Story
Lucy is ready for her new home! She is an unclaimed stray so we don't know her history; or her breed really. I have her listed as Basenji (she has a curly tail!) & Dachshund mix but she could be anything from Chihuahua to Beagle to Black Mouth Cur. It would be fun to DNA test her!! Lucy is 18# with an estimated DOB of Feb 2024.  She is young & still learning things; she is unsure often but is very energetic. Lucy seems to be housetrained but we are still working on crate training. She needs an experienced owner or someone willing to work with a fear free force free trainer. She would really benefit from some classes to help with her confidence.  Lucy has been dog friendly & is playful but she will need slow introductions to new dog friends.  She needs another playful dog in the home or an active owner that'll make sure she gets daily exercise & enrichment.  Lucy has some resource guarding with food.  That just means she needs to be fed separately or in a crate.  Lucy has not been cat tested yet but that can be arranged if needed. She should be ok with older children (13+). Lucy does well on a leash so she doesn't require a fenced in yard but will need to be leashed or on a tie out at all times. Lucy's adoption fee is $225. She is fully vetted for 1 year, spayed, microchipped, & on monthly preventatives. Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com. Please live within 1 hour of South Bend or Elkhart, IN. *We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.* ##2177789##
