Story
Journey has been at the rescue for close to 3 years! Despite his lengthy stay he has continued to be incredibly sweet and affectionate. He is not only friendly towards humans, but also plays well with other dogs, making him an ideal companion for a multi-dog household. He is playful - loves toys. Journey also enjoys meeting new people, always hoping that one of the new humans will take him home. It is hard to believe that this friendly guy has been in rescue for most of his life. Is it because he isn't as pretty as some other dogs? It certainly isn't because of his behavior. Journey is waiting to have a home of his own with people who will provide him with the love and attention he deserves. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. Journey's adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. If transport is needed, his adoption fee is $525 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)To Apply Please Copy and Paste to Your Browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Up to date on vaccines: Hiccups is still receiving his core vaccine series and will need one additional vaccine after adoption to reach full immunization Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Hiccups: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: Doing well! He's done well in his crate for up to 6 hours when home alone, and overnight. Leash walking: He has been reactive to other dogs on walks, and can then bark and pull. He will need to keep working on this, and his adopter will be offered a free spot in our virtual leash reactivity training class! Dog social: Hiccups needs to be the only dog in the home. Cat social: He lives with a cat in his foster home and has been doing well after a slow, proper intro period. Kid friendly: He has done well in spending time with a baby, and was very gentle Hiccups has no known medical needs beyond routine wellness care Hiccups likes: - Cuddling with you on the couch and giving kisses - Watching the neighborhood activity from the window - Playing with his beloved Gumby toy Hiccups is a cuddly and sweet boy who just recently arrived in Chicago as part of Hurricane Helene relief efforts. He has been excited to learn all about life in the big city, and would love a home that can help him decompress and learn the ropes. He has shown reactivity to other dogs he sees on walks, and would appreciate an adopter who can help him work on this with positive reinforcement training. He is playful and loving, and would enjoy a home where he can continue to keep his brain busy and get plenty of snuggles! Hiccups's adoption fee is $300, and he is excited to find his pawfect furever home! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ * Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program.
