Ferdinand is a 1 year old male Carolina Dog / Border Collie mix, and is the perfect blend of both breeds - bringing together intelligence, athleticism, and a whole lot of heart. And yes… he really is THAT handsome in person! Ferdinand has a fun, active spirit and loves to stay on the move. You’ll often find him happily trotting around the park, exploring his surroundings with curiosity and confidence. He is agile, playful, and always ready for a little adventure. But what makes Ferdinand truly special is his softer side. After a good round of exploring, he’ll pause, settle in, and flash the sweetest, biggest smile at you … sometimes even striking a pose like he knows just how charming he is! He also enjoys the excitement of running along the fence line with other dogs, sharing playful energy and making new friends from afar. Ferdinand is ready for a home that will embrace both his playful spirit and his loving heart. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can keep up with your adventures plus melt you with his smile, Ferdinand could be the perfect one for you. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.April 11, 2026, 7:05 pm

This darling boy is Tupac! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog with ID on 2/14. Sady, no one has come to reclaim Tupac, so he is on the search for a new forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Tupac as an energetic little fellow with a lot of character! He is very vocal and likes to voice his opinion. He enjoys walks, treats, and his life motto is "ball is life"! When he's excited he does get jumpy, but with a little consistency and lots of treats he will learn to stay down. Tupac is approximately 2 years old, and weighs 45 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, has been microchipped, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered upon adoption. Please come meet Tupac in kennel 882; his ID # 16983. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. This girl with the beautiful smile is Kyla! She arrived at the shelter as a lost dog with ID on 3/1, and sadly, her people never came to reclaim her. It appears as though she recently weaned some pups, but she's now taken the "no more puppies" pledge so that she can live her best life! The volunteers describe her as friendly, though initially shy. The loud, overwhelming shelter can be a lot for some dogs, so we imagine once in a loving home she'll open up and relax. Kyla looks forward to her daily walks at the shelter where she can get some fresh air and love from the volunteers. She is such a pretty dog, and she does know how to sit nicely when asked. If you have a soft spot for the shy kids, please come to the shelter and ask to meet Kyla! Kyla is approximately 5 years old, and weighs 46 lbs. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, has been microchipped, and did test negative for heartworms. Kyla is waiting patiently in kennel 57; her ID # is 17291.
