Story
Available in TX, PNW and NE! Meet Ashley, an adorable 5 month old Carolina mix puppy, weighing 50 pounds and full of playful energy! This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home! Our little learner is picking up commands like "sit," "lay down," and "leave it," and she's showing great skill in loose leash walking and recall training already. Living with a medium-sized dog and two cats currently, she's friendly and playful, eagerly watching and learning from her furry friends. She would thrive in a home with another dog, as their presence helps her warm up to new things and experiences more easily. Though she can be a bit shy in new situations, her curiosity helps her adjust quickly to new experiences and people. One of her charming traits is how quickly she settles down at night in her crate, making bedtime a breeze. Despite her young age, she has the ability to relax on her own and will often put herself down for naps throughout the day. If you're looking for a loving, intelligent companion who's eager to learn and grow, this playful pup might be the perfect match for you! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. To apply directly for Ashley click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-521 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Jewel sure is a gem! This incredibly sweet girl is so adaptive and remains happy and playful all the while. She's super friendly, loves greeting people, loves being pet, is affectionate both giving and receiving, is happy and playful around other dogs, and was shy and wanted to keep distance around the cat we introduced her to. She's easy going and will just be as happy as a clam to have a human and/or family to be part of. She would absolutely love going on daily outings to explore and would make a fantastic companion in whatever she's included in. She's at the perfect age, just around 1 year old, where she's got the exhausting new puppy stage behind her but is still ready to be active and learn all kinds of new things. Don't pass this girl up, she will make a lucky person/family very happy. Jewel is up to date with vaccinations, is spayed and micro-chipped. Her weight is currently around 40 lbs. If interested in welcoming this one of a kind Jewel into your heart and home, please email us for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org

Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Jupiter Breed: Carolina Dog Sex: Female Age: 5 Weight: 40 lbs Vetting: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention House trained: Yes Crate Trained: She is crate trained, but her first experience with them was when she was with animal control, so she doesn't love being in one. Dogs: She has done well with male dogs, but has had personality issues with other females. Cats: She hasn't been cat tested, but can upon request. Energy Level: Her high energy side comes out when she wants to play. She will run and play tug-a-war with a maximum energy level, and she needs to play like this at least twice a day. But when she's done playing, she would love to just relax in the sunshine. Things that make me happy: Food and scratches, specifically butt scratches, and being with her human man. She loves her foster mom and is very protective of her, but she will always want to be a daddy’s girl. She is a terrible flirt and waits all day for an evening of snuggles with her foster dad. She loves her treats of raw carrots and green beans. She even knows the difference when given a choice and she will tell you which one she would prefer at that moment. And if you take the time to scratch her bum she will reward you by loudly purring. Things that make my humans happy: She is so smart. She knows how to give a high five, a regular five, and a double five aka a ten. She also knows No, Sit, and Speak and is working on lying down. She sticks to her schedule of eating and going to the bathroom outside, so as long as her human is consistent all will be well. Working on: Jupiter is still a bit wild when playing. She is not aggressive, but she doesn't always understand that humans don’t play the same way as dogs. She needs someone who can handle a dog who uses her mouth when playing. She won't bite hard, but there could be the occasional nip when your hand is too close to her end of her tug rope. She is also built like a furry little tank and she may jump on you when playing (she doesn't jump otherwise) and you’ll feel her compact weight and her nails. Before FAR: Jupiter lived her first two years on her own as a stray until she was picked up by animal services and was rescued by Furever After Rescue just in time to avoid being euthanized. She was likely never a domestic dog before she was rescued. She doesn't show any signs of having been mistreated by humans, but she will always be skittish around and wary of people. Special Notes: Jupiter is slightly skittish from having been on her own originally. She prefers the flight instead of fight reaction as her first instinct and will need her own special place to retreat to when she gets scared. She wants someone who will be patient with her and let her explore and understand what is expected of her. Ideal Family/Home: Because of her size and background, she wouldn’t be right in a household with younger children. She really needs a family that will be able to give her the love and attention she needs. She will want to sleep in the bed with you where she's not shy about being a bed hog, but she repays with sweet cuddles. She's good on a leash and loves a good walk, but not a long one, so she will need daily exercise through lots of playing. She would not be good in a home where her parents are gone 40+ hours a week. She is a special dog and needs a family that can appreciate her uniqueness. DOZER IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED!   Dozer is 1.5 years old and about 50lbs. He thrives on love and attention from his humans. He likes balls of all sizes,  fuzzy toys and friends to play with. This  boy will make a  wonderful addition to a loving, fun family! Dozer is an active boy, that will do best in a home with another dog for him to play with. He does like to chase cats if they run, but also plays gently if they give him a chance. He is great with the foster puppies in his home. He teaches the babies how to play, and watches over them. He is a smart and handsome guy. He is leash, kennel, and house trained. Expensive toys aren't necessary for this sweet boy as sticks are his favorite! He'll pick them up, run with them, and fetch them. Dozer  rides very well, and his favorite place to go to is Tractor Supply. He loves meeting people and being the center of attention. Dozer is ready for adoption. He is completely vetted.
