With an intake date of 10/26/22 at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center and the fate of having to spend the next fourteen months on evidence hold, Chuck's world was very small. For a love bug like himself, the fact that he was rarely allowed to exit from his kennel must’ve been torture. Even after the hold was lifted, Chuck didn’t attract an adopter; due to overcrowding at the shelter, his future was put in jeopardy. On 1/17/24, we were thrilled to tell Chuck that we were breaking him out of the shelter, once and for all. He's a three-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who loves people and is great with other dogs. Crate-trained, house-trained, and easy on the leash, Chuck is ready for his forever home. Being highly treat motivated, he knows his basic commands and is a quick learner. Tracey, Nyla's foster mom, refused to put her down despite advice from two vets. Although the distemper has left its mark with a neurological twitch and a palsied front leg, Nyla has adapted and is now zooming around on her three remaining good legs. She is well-behaved walks great on a leash, and is a bit shy (which is understandable given her past experiences). Nyla lives with her foster brother and finds comfort in being near him. Her only special requirement is to maintain her good clean diet of rice, chicken, and other appropriate foods. Story

We adopted Flora when we were living in Honduras. She is a sweet girl and loves walks and running outside. She has never had an accident in the house and loves our two children and two small senior female dogs. Our daughters love playing dress-up with her and pretending to ride her around the house. She has been a part of our family for about two years. We love her dearly. She does not like some larger male dogs and had a biting incident with a neighbor’s male whippet while out walking before bed about two weeks ago. This has never happened before during our two years with her, including living in close quarters with other families in embassy housing in Honduras. We live in military quarters and the base ruled that we cannot keep her here. We are devastated. She is a wonderful dog and deserves a second chance.
