Story
Guachaqui is a bouncy, happy, goofy girl who came to the shelter with a pal. Both dogs were left behind on a property when the previous owner moved out and stayed with the new owner after that. Guachaqui was reportedly housebroken and her person described her as affectionate, playful and always by your side. They also said that she LOVES toys. While Guachaqui was a bit nervous when she first came the shelter, she’s really opened up and is a friendly, silly dog who loves to spend time out of her kennel. She has tons of playful energy and would make a great adventure buddy with a bit of training. Guachaqui shares her kennel and has been social and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Guachaqui today!

Story
Spudley is a sweet, sensitive boy who came to the shelter as a stray. Shy at first, this boy has shown us what a big heart he has and is beloved by many volunteers and staff. He’s opened up while with us and will surely blossom in a loving and patient home! Here’s what some of his friends have said:“This sweetheart keeps impressing me. We did a walk around the lake without his roommate. He came out happy and had a good sniffing walk.Spud would prefer being a lapdog but was a very good boy on his walk. Easy return after snuggle time in the grass.”“Spud walked to the play yard today! He and his kennelmate exited together and that helped make it fun for him. They had a good time playing at the beach and Spud even comes when you call him. He would still prefer to be in your lap but would run around and play. Such a sweet boy.”“I have been able to carry Spud to a yard and always get a lot of puppy kisses and lapdog time. Such a sweet boy.”“I found out a few good things about Spud today. He remembered me after only one day working with him. He was very friendly, let me leash him, pet him, and carry him to a play yard. He enjoyed ear rubs and he gave me lots of kisses. Very sweet.”Spudley is working hard to build confidence and to become more comfortable with normal doggy things like walking on leash. We know the sky is the limit with the right family! He shares his kennel with another PACC pup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Spudley today!!

Story
HOLD / PENDING Gypsy is a very intelligent, loyal girl who loves to play tag with other dogs. She knows all her basic commands and is extremely affectionate with people she trusts. She can get anxiety when outdoors on walks if there is traffic or loud noises. We believe this is because she was caught in a trap and her first real interactions with people was a traumatic experience.  She acts as the "welcome committee" for new dogs coming into our rescue and seems nurturing of the younger ones - showing them the ropes. She is very intuitive and has all of the behavior traits one would expect with a Carolina Dog.  We would anticipate her going to a new home and environment to be a daunting experience for her at first so a person who is breed familiar and willing to be patient and build trust on her terms is needed. Gypsy also loves other canine companionship and being part of a pack so a home with at least one other dog would be required for adoption.  Applications for adoption can be submitted at lovar.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 26, 2024, 12:22 am
