WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Angie is in a neighboring rescue that is having a family emergency. If you are interested in adopting her, we will bring her into Hay Dude to complete the adoption. Angie - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Angie, full of youthful exuberance for life, innocence and curiosity. Ready to crawl right into your heart (won't take me long either!!) and be a part of a family...YOUR family! I am still a youngster yet, a big puppy at heart! I have lots of love to give along with tail wags and butt wiggles. I do great with people both tall and small and the other foster pups here too! Although I have not met any of those creatures y'all call a cat yet! At around 2 years of age and about 100lbs, I'm a pawsomely perfect size for...yes, everything! Neighborhood strolls, nature hikes(aaaah, all those wonderful tantalizing smells), camping, being a co-pilot for errand runs or trips to the park! You name it, I'm ready to give it a whirl and have a blast too (with whatever it is) just cuz we're doing it together (my favoritest thing)!! As my short sleek coat is low maintenance in the grooming department it makes me more of a wash-n-go type of gal. And you do know what that means don't you?!! Oh yep yep, lots of extra time in the 'spoil me rotten' department. And you do know that's what it is all about!! ;) Big on personality, smart and inquisitive, affectionate and sweet. My oh my I have a boatload of great traits going on, oh and don't forget my stunningly gorgeous good looks, to make me a great family addition, I just need the family...could it be YOUR family? If we could be that perfect fit please fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Meet Delta. If you're an active person who likes hiking, beaches, swimming, dog play dates, games of retrieving or scent work games and a variety of those type of activities and would be willing to do a training session most days for mental exercise or something similar, you would be a good fit and home for Delta.  Delta thrives best getting off the property doing things with her handler in the outdoors for about 1.5-2 hours a day usually in the evening as she is an outgoing, high energy dog. Delta typically does a smaller activity in the morning also. Just a typical walk or two a day as a primary source of her exercise doesn't suffice. Delta also loves car rides and running errands with her person. She is not seeking a situation where she will be crated long hours while her people are working all day. Her current owner has trial and tested out what satisfies her needs as a individual and this is what works best and what she enjoys in life.   Delta is being re-homed due to a bad series of medical events of two household members. In home hospice care, a recent death, and an upcoming amputation in mid-December and more mobility and more continued housebound issues are the reasons for rehoming and seeking a more ideal situation for all. Delta has a high toy and food drive, high scent drive, medium prey drive, higher energy that can relax around the house when provided quality mental and physical exercise outlets on a daily basis (she usually exercises 2 to 3 hours per day). Delta would be an excellent prospect for scent work. She is nimble, agile, enjoys obstacles, and may also enjoy agility. She currently does obedience work, water activities, and might do well with some other sports like frisbee rollers, lure coursing, dock diving, etc. Delta loves hiking and exploring the woods, swimming, walks, flirt pole, playing with other dog friends, relaxing at home, beaches, sniffing and exploring terrain, training and scent work/games, swimming in oceans and streams, playing with toys or chew items, walking around stores that allow dogs, retrieving, frisbee rollers, car rides, new challenges; she thrives best with a daily planned outing of activities that will keep her mentally and physically stimulated. Delta is house and doggy door trained. She has threshold manners, vehicle riding manners, and knows "place."  Delta is very handler soft and submissive as was noted in her "Volhard temperament test". She is very in tuned and sensitive to human emotions. She has high guarding traits of the family, estate and vehicle and is highly watchful, vigilant, investigative, and alert to her surroundings with quick response times to commands also.   Delta is affectionate with an invigorating wiggle butt greeting, many kisses and love to all family members. She can independently enjoy time and space to herself and operate independently at tasks. Delta can be snuggly at times, but a velcro dog she is not.  She has operated without much concern in her current pack amongst a low-drive female pack with, given proper structure, instruction, and management of high value items. She has many canine friends of different sizes outside the home. Delta has training in functional obedience, off leash, and has started advanced level work.  She is very responsive and obedient to instructions, wonderful on the trails off leash, and has much experience in various environments, stores, surfaces, and various exposures. To date, Delta has had no dog reactivity when leashed. Delta has no destructive or separation anxiety issues. She is  crate trained, but does not spend much time in the crate during the day. Delta is weary and watchful of strangers, as is typical of the breed, but can warm up with proper introductions using treats. She does have many human friends she knows and sees on a daily basis. Delta can startle on occasion in public. She does not enjoy people walking or noises close  behind her in some environments. Nor does she like the sounds from a crowded kennel boarding facility, but overall she is functional and enjoys outings a great deal. Delta would not be a good fit for apartment living due to suspicious and alert nature. She   may make an good emotional support dog but not advised for service dog work or therapy dog work with strangers. Older children are preferred as Delta is more weary initially of young children due to their natural mannerisms. Cats and livestock unknown. Delta does not seek a home where she will be crated all day as she is not in that situation now. Delta is seeking an active home that enjoys the activities that she's does.  She would love to continue to do more hiking, training, games, swimming, and play dates with friends or other similar activities. A home who would enjoy an extroverted/introvert, an explorative, scent-oriented and adventurous, highly-affectionate canine. Delta would also love to have another canine housemate of similar breed, energy level, and playfulness.  A home who also seeks a higher intensity and energy level guardian of property and estate, which includes management around strangers and visitors but is very loving to her whole family. Breed experience highly recommended.  Delta is up-to-date on all vaccines. Current owner is willing to travel within a reasonable distance to ensure a successful meet and greet session to ensure everyone's happiness. Can FaceTime for serious inquiries prior to meet and greet and can provide more specific information and many supplies.   Will be selective for discussion placement only to best fit home and fulfillment of all.   Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. **Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Adopters will be required to enroll the puppy into training and provide proof to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue within 6 months of adopting.  Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized before 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit.
