Story
Hi, I'm Gotti! Don't let my size fool you. I am a sweet, gentle, giant. I am bonded with my best friend, Nala. We have been together our whole lives so we want to continue to stay together. I like walks outside, but I especially LOVE walking side by side with my Nala. I am a big guy, so I need someone that can handle walking us both. We both love kids! Cats.. not so much. I absolutely adore back scratches and car rides. I love playing with squeaky toys and kongs. I may be a big strong dog, but I am a sweetheart. If you're looking for two sweet dogs to brighten your days, look no further! Come meet us and fall in love! Interested in adopting us? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours (Mon: 12-4pm and Tues-Sun: 12-5pm) to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Tank This sweet, big baby wandered up to a house a couple months back, skin and bones, horrible skin, just in very bad shape all around. Thankfully, some kind folks agreed to foster him and he is doing much better now, although he still has some healing to do. He appears to be middle aged- maybe 5 or so. He is very friendly and sweet natured. He does well with other dogs, but is not a good candidate for a home with cats. He is house trained and Crate trained and is a very smart boy, learning new concepts with ease. We believe he may be a Cane Corso mix and he weighs about 65-70 pounds. We have had him neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations. He was heartworm negative and has been placed on monthly prevention. This sweet guy needs a home to rest and continue healing. He is so affectionate and kind hearted, with an incredibly sweet spirit and endless amounts of love, despite what he's been through. Can anyone out there offer him the loving home that he so desperately wants and deserves? Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am FridaysPort Jervis, NJ 5am Fridays Southington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Meet Lapis. If that beautiful gray, brindled coat doesn’t grab you, just look at those mesmerizing blue/gray eyes!  HISTORY: Lapis, her mother and 9 brothers and sisters were owner surrenders. PERSONALITY : Playful, sassy, smart, independent (but loves attention).  FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Playing with her toys and her canine friend, Birdie, eating, sleeping and ice cubes! This girl will come running at the sound of a refrigerator ice dispenser. MEDICAL ISSUES : At four weeks old, Lapis (the runt of the Gem litter) had to leave her brothers and sisters as her mother sat on her and broke her tibia (boy did Mom have a big butt!). The wonderful doctors at Partner Veterinary repaired her leg and now, Lapis is all healed up and ready to find her people. The doctors at Partner recommended that Lapis have a six- month follow-up appointment with a canine orthopedist for an evaluation, with x-rays, to ensure the proper growth and alignment of her leg.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lapis would love a home with another playful pooch that would also help teach her all things “dog.” She would also do best in a home with adults and older, respectful children as well as someone that has breed experience. ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS / COMMENTS: Lapis will need to continue to work on her house training as well as work on what is and what is not appropriate to chew on (toys yes; ankles no). She is currently not a huge fan of the heat and will tell you when she thinks it’s time for her to go in so trips outside when it's hot should be short. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. **Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized prior to 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.  Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. For additional information please review our FAQs or contact mastiffstomutts@gmail.com **Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption that occurs through this organization without disclosure.  We reserve the right to make exceptions for special circumstances. **PA Kennel License: 05845Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   June 30, 2024, 9:40 pm
