Despite her rough start, Glinda has adapted well and shown a loving temperament. She has experience being around medium to large dogs and enjoys playful interactions with them. While she hasn't been exposed to cats or young children, Glinda has demonstrated good behavior around older kids (12+ years). She is working on crate-training, which helps her feel secure and provides her with a sense of comfort in her own space. Story
Good With Kids: Yes, 8 and up. Good With Other Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Tested, but has not lived with cats. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes House Manners: Good Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes, Tess is an easy walker Knows Basic Commands: Sit Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High):Couch Potato to Moderate Special Needs: None Physical Fence: Preferred / No Invisible Fences Nickname: Dutchess Favorite game: Fetch Arrival story: Spent a long stint at the Saginaw County Animal Shelter. Approximate age / Weight: 10-years-old and 66 lbs. Personality: The Duchess has arrived. The Duchess of Waggin’ Tails that is! Ruler of the foster dog kingdom or errr… her foster home. Tess is a spunky lady, who loves to snuggle, go for walks, play with her tiny toys and zoomie around the yard. Queen Tess is a pretty easy-going lady and loves to just hang out with her people on her throne (couch) after taking you on a parade around her kingdom (neighborhood). She knows sit, and has more of a refined palate and leans into being more of a meat and potato type of girl. Tess is kind to all her subjects (cat and dog-tested). She is nervous around new people, so a slow introduction with lots of treats is the way to this queen’s heart. New Home: She likes to hang out with her people and is a great daily walking buddy. Would be happy living with other animals, but would also be happy to eat up all the attention she truly deserve as the only Queen in your home. Are you willing to roll out the red carpet for her? Contact: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. Story
Take a look at this big beautiful boy! 5 years old, 82 lbs, Cane Corso mix that is neutered and UTD on shots. Here’s what his foster mom says: Sweetest face & absolutely adores human companionship. Always ready for adventure with you, a car ride, meeting new friends, exploring new places, and learning new skills. House and potty trained. He is still learning that the crate is a fun and safe place. Ultimate gentleman on a leash, only pulling a little at first with the excitement of a new adventure. Knows how to sit like a king and will eagerly offer his paw—he loves showing off his good manners! He’s not much of a barker, and greets visitors with a waggy tail. Loves training games, his favorite treats are chicken bits and meatballs. He is both highly food motivated and praise motivated. Ultimate “velcro dog” in the making — snuggles, cuddles and massages are top on his list, melting into you and rolling on his back for belly rubs. His silly, playful side has started to peek out too, chasing and pouncing on tennis balls like a cat or showing off his climbing agility. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for his forever family, someone who will appreciate his calm, loving nature. Monkey would enjoy a lifestyle where he can be included in your daily activities and would love to go to work with you. Currently, he shows great interest in other animals. He has been around horses and donkeys! So far, he has offered some playbows with another dog, but has not yet had an opportunity to further explore doggie friendships. Story
Ruby is named Ruby because Scaredy-cat is just a stupid name. She is sweet and gentle until something scares her, then she jumps. She’s good on a leash until something startles her, then she pulls…. And she’s strong. She’s a beautiful girl. Loving and gentle, loves attention but hates excitement. She’s not a guard dog, she’ll hide behind you in the threat of great danger, or if a butterfly scares her. Quiet, soft, and sweet Ruby, she wants to be right at your feet. This dog is sheltered in a foster based, nonprofit rescue. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed.
