Story
Candy was added to her family as a stray a few years ago. Unfortunately, both her human parents died this year. We are helping their human son find placement for his parent's 3 cats. According to his Mom before she passed away, Candy is a sweetheart but she takes some time to fall in love with you. She did not like the other cats in the home so an only pet would be best.

These pups are in Georgetown, Kentucky too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Looking for a barn cat? Photos in this listing are simply generic photos. Since our barn kitty "inventory" changes, we only use generic photos but are able to send you specific photos of cats available when you put in a barn cat application with your interest and what you are looking for. SCHS has male and female cats who are in need of forever homes in barns! Short haired, medium haired, long haired, a variety of colors and patterns, and ages . . . .these cats are more comfortable living outdoors and would prefer country livin' over roughing it indoors and would love to lounge on a bale of hay, roost in your barn, peruse stalls and ensure your farm has no rodent problems while bringing it charm and meows! Each of these cats has already been spayed/neutered, is current on all shots, Feluk/FIV tested, treated for fleas with Revolution and de-wormed. We have feral cats, but also some that are not feral but still better suited for an outdoor home. These are  cats which are maybe shy with people or skittish, do not get along with other pets in close proximity, or simply cats which don't like to be held or petted much but enjoy looking out the window or tackling furry mice at their foster home instead! Email today to get more info on our selection of kitties that are suitable for country living on the farm and we will be happy to assist!  To support our foster and adoption program, a donation of $25 is requested for a barn kitty adoption.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 16, 2024, 6:06 pm

The staff there can guide you through the cat adoption process if the meet-and-greet goes well Sweet Pea is funny, chubby lady, that is often making goofy faces. She is a low energy, low maintenance type that is quite content gazing out the window or snoozing in a cat bed while you go about your business. Once you sit or lay down, you will find her spot next to you, ready for affection.  Sweet Pea seems to like other cats as long as they aren't overly active. She does NOT want to wrestle with them, but she will rub against them lovingly. She is even unbothered by calm dogs and can be found napping on her foster mom's bed with the (low energy) 90 pound dog.   Loud noises spook gentle Sweet Pea, so a quieter home would be her favorite. Sweet Pea is FIV positive. This means her immune system is lower than what you would expect for a cat, but she can still live a long and normal life. See more on FIV here . Estimated DOB:   4/16/2022   ** Thanks to Bissell and Timeless Treasures of KY I am only $25 until October 15th** We would love to hear from you! The staff there can guide you through the cat adoption process if the meet-and-greet goes well.   Cinnamon Sugar is a petite young lady with beautiful coloring. She’s a little shy, but loving and companionable and looking for a quieter home. She came to us with a litter of kittens, but is now spayed and looking forward to being your main squeeze. She’s chatty and intelligent and likes to be involved in whatever you’re doing. She does not want to be friends with other kitties and generally keeps to herself. Cinnamon Sugar does suffer from stomatitis and will have occasionally flair ups. During this time frame her gums are red and sensitive and she will prefer to eat wet food. She has been responding very well to steroids injections during her flair ups.  Estimated DOB: 3/11/22 Adoption fee: $75 plus 6% KY sales tax     We would love to hear from you!
