Story
Abigail was rescued from the street while she was pregnant with NINE kittens. Sadly, she lost the kittens, but remains one of the sweetest souls who is enjoying her new life indoors. Abby is very friendly and approaches you when she wants attention as she is very affectionate. Sometimes she will join you for a cuddle on the couch. She doesn’t mind dogs but may do better in a home as a single cat. Abby is negative for FIV and feline leukemia, spayed, flea and worm treated, and vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. She is ready to spread some love in her forever home! If you were interested in adopting Abby, please fill out an application at Castawaycatsde.com.

Story
Crystal and a bunch of other cats were living in an alleyway in a not so good part of town. They were multiplying out of control and being threatened by some non cat loving people. We were asked to help, and when we went out there were a lot more than we thought but we did the best we could to try to get as many as we could. Surprisingly enough they were all pretty friendly and very sweet. They now all are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for fvrcp and rabies, flea and worm treated and tested negative for leukemia and AIDS. Now they are looking for new permanent, inside homes. If you are interested in Crystal or any of our other castaway cats please fill out our application at castawaycatsde.com

Story
Cami is a sweetheart that was living on the not so nice streets of Wilmington. We saw her desperately looking for some food along with a bunch of other cats, who unfortunately have to live out there, so we are trying to help as many as we can as fast as we can. She definitely was once someone's pet because she is so sweet but of course not spayed! She is now has been spayed, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated and is negative for feline leukemia and FIV. If you are interested in Cami or any of our castaway cats, please fill out our application at castawaycatsde.com

Story
Jewel was born December 27th 2023. Her mother was a calico but I do not know who her mother mated with to produce Jewel and her brother Julian. Julian is gray and white. Jewel is the spitting of her mother. I kept the kittens to train them to be my emotional support animals, unfortunately Jewel is more timid and nervous more so than her brother. She knows her name and she will respond to her name. She is vocal, not too much but she will respond when you speak to her. she is very loving and loves attention and to sleep with you. She can be a little Moody about being held but she does like affection. She can tolerate going outside in small enclosed yards she cannot handle large outside areas. Her favorite treat are freeze dried chicken hearts and chicken giblets from chewy.com. Jewel has been with me everyday of her life and I have been living in a tight space and she is mainly an indoor cat. Please treat her like she is your baby she deserves all the love and attention that she can get.

Story
Artemis is 5 years old and was found by a friend abandoned as a kitten in Corpus Christi Texas at 2 months old. I decided on a whim to adopt her and have had her ever since. Artemis is a very sweet cat that mostly keeps to herself, doesn't like being held, but loves affection through pets and playing. She is rather skittish around new people and in new environments but will warm up to anyone given enough time so she can introduce herself on her terms. Recently my partner and I adopted a dog and unfortunately after a lot of effort it is clear that these two just will not get along and can not cohabitate. It's clear that she is just no longer happy with the situation at home and needs a better place where she can be carefree and stress free. That combined with my partners allergies to cat made the decision to rehome Artemis be the best situation for everyone.

Story
Head and chin rubs, please!!!  Meet Coral, my beautiful tabico foster.  Coral came to me after having her left leg amputated, to gain her confidence living without a leg. Coral has come such a long way. Having her leg amputated has not slowed her down at all. She jumps, runs, plays without issue. Coral loves: food and treats, soft toys she can easily grab and cat nip. To see her growth and love grow over the last 3 months has been amazing. She went from a cat that did not really interact with me to jumping and running to me when I walk in her room. She lights up and meows at me until I pet her. Coral loves being having her head and chin rubbed as she sits there purring away.  To her future adopter: Please be patient with Coral as she adjusts to her new surroundings. She was very reserved at first, but within a month, she was playing, laying on the couch with me and loving life. Coral also loves her own space and laying in windows. She may enjoy being an only cat; however, Coral has been introduced to resident cats. She is unsure at times but only hisses, but with time and patience, I believe she would adjust perfectly fine with another laid back cat that gives her space. She does okay with my one resident cat that comes into her area. That’s because he just wants to be in the space and doesn’t bother her. She is a girl who just loves her humans and cuddling.  Coral is playing with her foster family.  Please ask to meet her and have some playtime!  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Joanna S.)  November 7, 2024, 5:25 pm
