Meet Annie & Hallie, two beautiful dilute calico five-month-old sisters from our "Parent Trap" litter! Their journey started in July when one of our dog adopters in Watertown called to say that they found a baby kitten in their front yard in some brush. After an initial search turned up no other cats, we took her in, and it didn’t take long for her to work her charm—becoming what we lovingly call a "foster fail." Then, just two weeks later, the rest of her family was discovered living in a rundown garage nearby—a young mom, Elizabeth James, and her four kittens: Annie, Hallie, and their siblings Nick Parker and Chessy. These girls are inseparable and must be adopted together. While Annie is the braver and more outgoing of the two, Hallie is a bit shyer and often looks to Annie for confidence and comfort. Annie is the first to explore new things and the first to greet you, while Hallie tends to hang back at first but will approach when she feels comfortable and trusts you. Once she does, you’ll be treated to a sweet session of pets and purring. Both sisters are incredibly curious and love to explore, but they’re a bit cautious with new people and situations. Patience and preferably cat experience are key to helping them adjust to their new home. They’re very social with other cats and are quick to run over and greet any kitty who comes by, purring and showing affection. Annie & Hallie are ready for a patient and loving home where they can continue to thrive. Their adoption fee is $500 and Annie & Hallie are vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. Suzanne is a very friendly girl who loves to have attention and spend time with people. She seems open to being friends with other cats and would be a great companion for another adult or senior cat in your home or just for you! Suzanne has tested positive for FIV, also known at kitty Aids. Just like with people it is NOT contagious through casual contact. It's safe to share food, water, and litter box with a negative cat. FIV is only passed by a deep bite wound, where saliva from the positive cat enters the blood stream of another kitty. This is very rare in socialized house cats. FIV cats can have a shorter life span in part due to the fact that with a compromised immune system they are more prone to contracting infections. FIV positive cats must live strictly indoors to reduce the chances of contracting something dangerous. It is NOT a death sentence! FIV positive cats can live well into their teens and have a very normal life. If interested in adopting, start at CatsCT.org. Her spay appointment is January 8th but she is available as a foster to adopt until then and we'd love to finalize her adoption after!

Shiloh is affectionate, fun and plays fetch like a dog! She's playful, very intelligent and her perfect day is spent basking in a sunny spot and getting attention! Adorable Asami is a gorgeous calico whose favorite activity is cuddling up next to her person for pets! This gentle 9 year-old loves her snuggle time in bed and waits for her person to come home so she can share some pets and affection. She’s great company and loves to follow her human around the house! Asami has an energetic side too, she enjoys hunting her catnip toys, playing with strings and swatting around paper balls. This very sweet, sometimes shy girl appreciates a calm, quieter environment so she can feel secure and show what a wonderful companion she is! She has lived with a small, quiet, respectful dog but does need to be your only feline furbaby in an adult or older teen home. Mr.Whiskers keeps very much to him self but loves to play with his mother Doja and they must go together. I'll supply food, a litter box, a few toys, and liter. I'll give them their play house as well. Because their previous owners had to relocate elsewhere, Mr. Whiskers and Doja were both rehomed to me. Even though I know they are secure with me and have all they need, I am having problems keeping them because I am now working and attending school. I also know they need someone to spend more time with them. I'm not in a rush, but I do hope they can find a home as quickly as possible.

She usually approaches people a little quicker. l supply food, a litter box, a few toys, and a liter. l give them their play house as well. This is "Stella". Stella is a tortoiseshell and she is 3 years and 4 months old. Stella has been with us for a little over a year now. When Stella came to us, she had a problem with her skin. She was treated by our veterinarian but then we had to wait for her skin problem to clear up. That took some time but Stella did well and has been cleared by our veterinarian. Tortoiseshells are "dark" in color and are less likely to be adopted than a light colored cat. But we say that "you can't judge a book by its cover"! Stella is very playful but sometimes she gets a little "fresh" with the other cats in her foster home. She is doing much better though. Stella would do better in a house with only 1 cat and she could be okay with a small calm dog. We do not know how she would do with children because she has never been around children. In light of that, in Stella's new home, children must be 10 years old or older. Stella is spayed, she got her shots and she tested negative for leukemia/aids. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Stella is $200.00. No credit cards. You can meet any of our animals at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury on Saturday during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00 so, if you are interested in meeting Stella or a particular animal, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com and we will be certain to bring that particular animal with us to Petco on Saturday. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!
