Story
Remi Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! A 3-year-old Boxer Terrier mix with a striking white coat adorned with black spots. This sweet girl is a true cuddle bug, always ready for a cozy snuggle or a belly rub while lying at your feet. Remi is best suited for an adult-only home where she can be the center of attention and share her loving antics. While Remi thrives in familiar environments, she does have some anxiety around new people and situations and may whine when she's feeling uneasy. However, she enjoys playdates with smaller dogs who share her active and lively play style. Remi has been in and out of a few homes in her short life, and she's now ready to find her forever family who will give her the love and stability she deserves. If you're looking for a loyal companion who promises affection and companionship, Remi might just be the perfect match for you! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. Story
Big Mama had 14 puppies - 14, yes, that's correct. She was lucky because right before birth, she was a stray in New Albany, Mississippi, walking around with an embedded collar; the people in the area were "annoyed" by her presence, and the threat to shoot her was made - this is true, not made up for "interesting bio" sake. One of our volunteers went and trapped her and brought her home. She gave birth two days later. She was safe, and her babies were safe.Another rescue took 3 of her puppies and left 11 behind, and mom, too. We don't love that, but it is what it is—these are ours, and they will find amazing homes, and so will BIG MAMA!Mama looks like a big plott hound/pit mix - daddies are unknown, and we think there may have been several. The puppies have been relocated to New England and are thriving in various foster homes. We are getting new photos and videos all the time. It's been quite a feat! Breed: Crossbreed of Plott Hound/Pit Mix/Daddy's UnknownAge: 9 weeks as of 3/9/2025Weight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:   New England      Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee, which is ALREADY PAID.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Hello everyone. My name is Rosie. My sister is Catarina aka Cat, and my brother is Baxter.  Cat is my mom's color, and I and Baxter are the color of my dad. My momma was a Lab mix, and my daddy was a Boxer. I came to the rescue of being the sweet, crazy boy you see right now with a bit of a reserved personality until I decided all was good. I love people, children, dogs/ puppies, and cats/kittens. Primarily, housebroken, leash trained, doggy door trained, crate trained. I have those boxer-long legs. I would love to be a running buddy, go camping and hiking, do yard work, or do anything with you. When the sunlight hits my coat, the fawn color, like my dad's, shines a deep fawn red. Please fill out an application and submit a deposit to begin my journey home to you.  Rosie Female Spayed Breed Boxer/ lab mix Color Fawn, black, and white Age 1 yrs Weight 40lbs Great with people, children, dogs/ puppies,  and cats/ kittens (unknown)   Adoption donation $395

Put away your gas and electric cars, this man runs on diesel. We aren't sure what we love most about Diesel - is it the underbite, the crooked tail, the wiggly energy, or how happy he is to make new friends? Maybe it's just everything combined that makes such a truly special dog. Diesel has done well with dogs and kids previously. Whoever scoops up this goofy pup will be lucky to call Diesel their best friend. **if you are interested in Diesel, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours**

Story
Montana found herself at the shelter as part of a cruelty case in March of 2023. She was seized from her former owner, along with her brother until very recently. Montana is very smart, and quick to learn new cues. This adorable girl loves to run, chase down toys, and is working hard on her fetch skills. While she's not nearly as fearful as Vermont, she does have a fear of new people and things. This makes walking on leash challenging and something she will need patience with. She comes with a Take My Lead grant for FREE training through Handsome Dan's Rescue, which is a mandatory part of her adoption to ensure her forever home is committed to working on her behaviors. Montana loves to play. She's a runner, and would do great in a home with enough space for her to do so. A large fenced in yard would be ideal to give her the outlet she needs to burn off her young energy. She also loves to snuggle, and will gladly get all up in your business in an attempt to get pats and hugs. She is on the small side of medium, and needs an adults-only home, where she will likely need to be the only pet. If you have any questions or are interested in adopting Montana, please email Rachael at hdrrachael@gmail.com
