"Heya, I'm Havana! I am a 5 year old female boxer. I am a sweet, calm girl who enjoys lounging in the sunshine, cuddling up in a plush dog bed, and chowing down on some snacks! I am a little timid, but I also love to play! My foster mom says I am a silly goose, and I suppose that is pretty accurate! I'm very wiggly and happy. Before I came to Zoe's House Rescue, I lived in a breeding kennel. I missed out on getting that one on one attention early on, so being loved and doted on in my foster home is new to me. I think I quite like being treated like a princess! Even though I am shy with new people, I do warm up if I'm given some time and patience. I like other dogs and I'm getting used to the cats in my foster home, they're a little weird and I am politely curious about them. I could be the only dog in the home, or I would be happy to have furry siblings! I am comfortable with big and small dogs. I am spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and have been treated with monthly parasite preventatives. I recently had a dental cleaning, and some bad teeth removed. So far, I haven't had any potty accidents in my foster home. I am also crate trained. I would love to be your girl!" Jazzy joined our rescue after a foster saved her from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter but backed out on her at the last minute. Jazzy arrived to a temporary foster home almost two weeks ago and we have spent time getting to know her before she heads to boarding, which isn’t ideal. In boarding, she will get loads of attention from staff and our volunteers but nothing beats a home and a foster - or family - of her own. Jazzy is a beautiful and playful boxer mix who loves being active and would make a fantastic hiking buddy. She walks beautifully on a leash and is both house and crate trained, making her an easy companion at home and on the go. Jazzy is great in the car and enjoys adventures, especially long walks. Though she can be wiggly and full of energy, she’s generally well-mannered, except when tempted by unattended food! Some new noises or experiences might make her flinch, but she quickly bounces back. Meet Bruno! This delicious ham sandwich is a 2 year old, approx 55lb English Bulldog that came to us by way of ACCT Philly in early August. Found as a stray dragging his leash, no one ever came to claim him. Bruno had a gnarly skin infection and came down with the ACCT URI. He's since recovered from both and ready to find his people. Bruno is a super sweet, happy go lucky guy who listens well for the most part. He loves other dogs and he's GREAT at entertaining himself. Give him a ball or a nylabone and he's good for hours! He knows basic commands, has wonderful recall, is crate trained and housebroken. He's dog friendly but can be humpy in the beginning. No little dogs for him as he is blissfully unaware of his size and strength. He's a silly goof who likes to throw himself around - bowling over everything in his path. With all of that said, Bruno does need an experienced adopter. Someone who will continue to work with him on boundaries. Bruno is a great little boy until he's not. He needs a family who understands how to redirect him when he's being naughty (ie being a bulldog). He can be inappropriately mouthy at times but NOT aggressive. For this reason, we're suggesting an adult only home or one with kids 12 and older. Bruno spent time with one of our trainers and he did very well. He has finally learned "drop it and has generally slowed down a lot. Overall he has learned to make better choices or maybe just has better instincts now (?). (Thanks, Jess!)
