Story
Handsome, adorable sweet-faced BRUNO has a pleasing and sunny disposition! When you look into his eyes and spend even a zeptosecond with him, your heart melts. So, forget the feeling of butterflies when you’re with him, it’ll feel like the whole zoo because his sweetness is s0 utterly intense. Bruno initially came to the rescue after his Momma had to move into a nursing home. He was the love-of-her-life, so his whole world rocked upside down. Bruno is looking for a home a second time due to no fault of his own and regarding personal matters. He enjoys a good hot dog, pup-cup, trips to the dog park, walkies, and naps. (Boy, does he love naps!) He is currently residing with his foster family who wants only the best for him. Bruno loves being pampered by a groomer, but will gladly be bathed at home as well. He has a spot along the right side of his body that looks like an apple, and therefore he’s nicknamed the “apple of our eyes” and “iDog.” He is a happy-go-lucky character that wants nothing more than a great scratch and some snuggles. Bruno is a treasured family member, and we can’t wait until his new forever family opens their arms wide open and welcomes him forever. Bruno is a 6-year-old Boxer/English Bulldog mix. (Please don't let his age fool you, he has much more rambunctious energy he's vested in making memories with you!) Bruno will do best in a house without any small animals, as he very much likes to hunt. He does, however, get along very well with other dogs regardless of their size. He is especially good with children. Six years oldNeutered, UTD vaccinations, microchipped, wormed. Housetrained. To inquire about BRUNO: Please email Rescue@LamanchaAnimalRescue.org for an application. K1697

Story
Hello, my name is: PeachDOB: 04/24/2021Sex/Breed: Spayed female Boxer/Staffie/Pittie Princess mixWeight: 45 lbsFriends: Adults, kidsTraits: Active, loyal, resilient, friendlyRescued From: Found strayPeach`s story is one of resilience and mama bear smarts. Her rescue began as a stray, roaming a peach tree orchard. Kind folks kept watch and when she showed up again looking very pregnant a plan was put into place to try to capture her and bring her to safety. It was winter, and frigid temperatures were forecasted. This street-smart mama eluded capture and ended up giving birth to her puppies in a crawl space under a church, choosing a far corner where heat billowed out of a vent. Temperatures were in the single digits, so the fact that Peach found such a warm spot undoubtedly saved her puppies’ lives. Mama was trapped safely, and her puppies were rescued from the crawl space. The little family was transferred to a foster home and Peach had the opportunity to dote on her puppies without worrying about survival. They were warm, fed, comfortable, and loved. Peach was a wonderful mama and was so grateful for the kindness she was shown by her rescuers and foster family. Now that her puppies are old enough to find homes of their own, mama is ready too! Peach has been a dream companion and doesn’t ask for much. She is an active girl who loves to play and run around outside. She’d love a big fenced in yard at her forever home and boy does she deserve anything she wants after surviving such hardships and keeping her little family alive. Peach is crate trained, seems house trained, and is overall pretty quiet and easy-going. Being with her people is her favorite thing, meeting new human friends with ease. If you are looking for an adventure buddy, Peach is your gal! As long as she is with you, she is happy! The devotion she shows for her people is unwavering. While she loves people, she’s been selective when it comes to other dogs. Given her history and having to fend for herself, we don’t blame her for being untrusting in this way. After everything she has endured, Peach deserves to be the center of her family’s attention as the only pet. Peach does get along with other dogs and likes to socialize with them, especially outdoors! We understand there aren’t many homes looking for a dog that prefers to be a solo companion, but that won’t stop us from searching far and wide for someone who will devote themselves to Peach just as she will to

Story
Empress (nicknamed “Emmie`) is a 5.5 month old female boxer/staffie mix puppy who weighs around 35 lbs. Emmie and her littermates came into this world as strays, kept safe in the crawl space underneath a church by their mom, Peach. Peach chose a far corner of the space where heat billowed out of a vent, a move that undoubtedly saved her puppies’ lives in frigid temperatures. Thanks to amazing humans, this little family was captured and transferred to a foster home and Peach had the opportunity to dote on her puppies without worrying about survival. They were warm, fed, comfortable, and loved. Peach was a wonderful mama and was so grateful for the kindness she was shown by her rescuers and foster family. These puppies haven’t known anything except a loving home and caring people, and their personalities show it! All of Emmie`s siblings have found their forever homes, leaving this blue-eyed beauty as the last one left. We can`t understand why! Emmie is outgoing, playful, and always ready to learn something new. She is a spitfire and so easy to love! She loves to wrestle and romp with her canine friends and would do best with a playmate in her forever home. She is doing great with her crate and house training, is food motivated, and seems to enjoy learning. Emmie is not at all a couch potato, so her ideal family will be experienced and active and adventurous like her. She is curious, outgoing, and full of light! We just adore this gorgeous girl and can’t wait to find her the forever home she’s been searching for… could that be yours? Interested in adopting? Story
Shandy Female Boxer mix 60lbs 7 years old Good with older children Good with bigger dogs after careful introduction Not recommended with cats or small dogs Appropriate for city living? No Recognize Shandy? This is her second time looking for a home through Finding Shelter but through no fault of her own! Shandy is a loving, loyal, happy, protective dog. She loves the people she considers family with all of her heart, but she gets anxious on a leash sometimes when new people approach quickly. Unfortunately, in the first home that adopted her, Shandy was permitted to interact with a child who approached her while she was on a walk and she nipped the child. Not her fault, not the child’s fault. Despite supporting all our adoptions with a lifetime of behavioral consultations and advice from our trainer, we were not notified of any issues or the bite until two weeks before her adopters were moving and wanted to return her. Behavior and management help was offered and declined. Thankfully, Shandy is pretty much the same dog we have always known and loved she was just incredibly depressed to be without a family again. Dogs know what they are missing when they lose their homes and Shandy is no exception. She knows that she lost what we all thought was her family forever but for Shandy not all hope is lost. Shandy needs a very experienced and dog savvy home with people 100% committed to working with her and properly managing her at home and outside of her home. She is a good dog she just unfortunately had some very back luck. It’s time to turn that luck around. Will you be her lucky charm? www.findingshelter.org
