Story
Huckleberry ("Huck") is a 3 year old Boxer/Pitbull mix who is looking for a calm and loving forever home... with a very tall fence. Huck may be a mixed breed, but he's a purebred athlete. This boy can scale at 4 foot fence, so he'll need a home with a 6 foot privacy fence. When he isn't showing off his impressive vertical jump, he likes going for walks and spending time with his people. Although he loves his people, he doesn't have any interest in furfriends as other dogs tend to stress him out. Huck is looking for a quiet neighborhood and an owner who is committed to working on his reactivity to other dogs. With a little training, this prince could be the perfect companion for you! The suggested adoption donation for Huck is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavi/oral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Before applying to adopt Huck, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls.  Adoptions for Huck are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Story
Here comes Freya, an adult Boxer/Catahoula mix, born July 2020.  She's ready for her second chance and a new place! Freya is an energetic and sweet girl.  She is housebroken, crate trained and leash trained.  She gets along with adults and new people.  She loves being active and needs a fenced yard so she can run.  She responds well to regular walks and runs on a daily basis.  Freya knows how to fetch and she knows some commands. Freya enjoys dining alone and will need her own personal space away from others at meal time.  She doesn't like to be bothered while she's eating!  The perfect family will understand that Freya still needs some training and they will be able to give her frequent exercise.  Because Freya is so energetic and doesn't know her own strength, she would not do well aorund small children - she might be okay around older kids (age 13+). The suggested adoption donation for Freya is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Story
I am moving and unfortunately cannot take my baby with me. ( big heartbreak ) and I don’t want her going to just anyone. I want to make sure she has a loving home and family. Soooo, this is Sassy. She is about to turn 3 years old. She is fixed, and loves all animals. She is a Pitt-husky mix. She is well socialized as she goes to doggy daycare M-F she does not like the crate but has always never had any accidents or anything when left out alone. I also wouldn't want anyone to say they want her if you’re planning to make her an outside dog. She’s a princess and needs to sleep inside with her family. When you first meet her she might give ya a bark or two. But once she sniffs ya and gets some pets she’s all about the kisses . She is up to date on all shots. And she is potty trained. HOWEVER you must pay attention to the blank stares she gives you as she does not whine but that stare is telling you she needs or wants something.

Story
***Courtesy Post*** Blue is a 2 yr old pitbull/boxer mix.  She is full of energy, loves to fetch, plays tug of war, and is a real delight.  She needs a home where she can be the center of attention. Blue really loves adults and kids but is jealous of other pets getting attention so she needs to be an only pet (at least till she gets some more training).Blue is a sweet silly girl.  She is spayed, also microchipped and current on vaccinations.   She is house-trained by using either Christmas bells to indicate she needs to go out or she will walk back over to you and stare at you. Also, kennel trained and not possessive with it. Blue does know her basic commands like sit, stay, and quiet but sometimes is stubborn and wants treats. Her favorite is salted peanuts from Costco.   Blue's favorite playtime is fetch or tug of war with tennis balls or stuffed animals with a texture like a crinkle material or rubber pieces. She also has this funny habit of running in circles when you try to pet her butt.  She is named after the raptor in Jurassic Park because if you are using the bathroom and close the door on her she huffs and makes raptor noises from under the door.  A $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.November 4, 2024, 11:57 am
