Story
Meet Jackson Jackson is stunning, matched only by his incredibly sweet and affectionate personality. If you are looking for your soul dog, your best friend, your ultimate companion, let Jackson be it. He is amazing. Like so many great dogs, Jackson found himself on the euth list at a high kill shelter. With a huge advocacy team trying to get him to safety, Jackson was brought to our attention. After seeing his interactions and his friendly ways, we rescued him knowing that he would bring years of endless love to a forever family. Jackson is three years old. Our best guest is that he’s a boxer, French bulldog mix, but it’s hard to really know. His ears live in another zip code lol, and he has the most soulful eyes that just pierce your heart. Jackson is 55 lbs. of pure love. Jackson is friendly, out-going, athletic, smart, confident, easy-going, well-mannered and loving. He loves treats and takes them from your hand as gentle as a lamb. Jackson loves being with people. He would be good with kids (who are taught to interact with a dog properly.) He gets so excited when he’s taken out of his kennel, but he quickly settles down to a happy stroll. Jackson likes other dogs and does well with them. A kennel environment is so stressful for dogs, but when he walks by the other dogs barking at him, he shows no reaction. He would probably do well with another active dog in the home, but not necessary, just a good option. He loves car rides. We’ll test for cats. Jackson would love to be your hiking companion, your neighborhood walk guy, your lunch buddy and your curl up and watch tv boy. He is simply amazing. He’s been through a lot and the demeanor he presents and his love for simply being alive are incredible. We’re doing everything we can to keep his spirits up. He’s receiving a lot of attention, lots of yard time, treats and love, but we hope his forever family or person finds him soon. Jackson is a dog of a lifetime and deserves to be in a loving home. If interested in Jackson, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Could this cutie pie be YOUR Honey Bee?   Honey Bee is excited to show you her resilience after having a rough start in life. Her parents were evicted from their home, and she found herself living at the shelter in Hall County. The volunteers there loved her so much and they helped her get to rescue, and a staff member there even fostered her! Honey Bee is definitely potty trained, gets the biggest zoomies, and loves to run in circles with a toy in her mouth. She knows "sit," she is good on a leash (after she's been allowed to exert some energy), and she LOVES to play fetch - usually bringing the ball back, but sometimes getting so excited that she forgets. Honey  Bee enjoyes basking in the sunshine and rolling in the grass- just getting to be a dog. She desperately wants a lap to crawl in and a face to kiss. She is a perfect "pocket pittie" size at ~40 lbs.  Honey Bee is so sweet, intuitive, and intelligent. She is undergoing heartworm treatment. She prefers to share her home with humans only.  Please open your heart to Honey Bee and show her what a committed, loving family is - we want to make sure no one ever lets her down again.  ##2193210##

Story
Franklin is a stunning 62-pound bundle of relaxation and charm. With a coat that gleams and eyes that light up at the sight of you, he’s impossible not to fall for. This big guy has a gentle nature and excels at reading the body language of his canine companions, making him a great friend to his kennel mates. When Franklin first arrived at the shelter, he was a bit shy, but he’s been making strides and warming up to his new surroundings. He’s found that having another dog around helps him come out of his shell and feel more confident. If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion who’s ready to shine with you, come meet Franklin. He’s waiting for a home where he can continue to grow and share his wonderful personality. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles.
