Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be, too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot!  I am currently in a wonderful foster home, where I am able to continue all of my training.  My foster mom and dad say that I am a VERY good student! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in my foster home and liked them, though I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers.  Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me.  I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball.  I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it.  My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I make a good office dog.  I really enjoy going on walks, and enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home.  I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun!  I am great in the shower, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, and easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house.  I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / I’ve had only a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule.  In my foster home, I have had perfect potty manners and have not had a single accident.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them and I can entertain myself with a toy while you're busy, or if you prefer, I'd love to play fetch — just throw me a ball!  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting and some cuddles with my people.  I secretly believe that I am a lap dog, so often times I will sit in your lap and wrap my front legs around your neck for a big hug.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  I absolutely love car rides, so let's hit the road and find some nice, more quiet places to explore together! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 21, 2025, 6:30 am

Story
A SWEET & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 38 lbs.    Hi, I’m Kaylyn!  I was rescued from animal control, and I sure am happy about that!  I’ve been enjoying my time with the nice volunteers and now I hear that I’m ready to find my new family to love and be loved by – yippie!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot there, too! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and really like playing with them! I’ve pulled towards other dogs that I see on my walks because I’m so excited and just want to play.  So, if you have a dog at home who would like a playful friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown, but I do have a high prey drive. / I really like the 7-year-old boy I spent time with on several daytrips and a weekend sleep over, but I do jump a bit in excitement, so kids around that age or a bit older may be best.  I also met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old and liked them, too, so let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as fun, playful, very friendly, sweet, and active – ready to enjoy the good life with my family! I can see us going for long walks or hiking, playing and discovering lots of things to do together. I was a good girl for my shelter bath and brush out, too. / My energy level is 6 – 8 and can be higher if I haven’t had enough exercise, so I’d like to be active with my family.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness or gentle leader. I also accept nice strangers without jumping. I think that the stress of being at the shelter got to me once, as a dog barked at/startled me while I was on a walk so I accidentally nipped at my walker.  This has not happened again. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I’m hesitant to come out of my crate at the shelter if you are wearing a hat. / My potty manners have been very good. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to zoom around in the Mostly Mutts play yard with the volunteers, so I’m sure I’d enjoy a fenced yard in my new home where we can play together.  I also love going for long hikes and walks, taking adventures, playing with squeaky toys and balls, tug-of-war, running and spending time with people. Treats are also great and I’m treat-motivated, so I’d like plenty of those. / Other than being weary of people wearing hats, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, consistent exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m currently on an inexpensive medication to help with my hyper-focus on toys. I’m hoping that in my forever home, where there will be lots of toys, I can feel more relaxed about them and hopefully come off the medication in time.   If you’re looking for a wonderful friend to be active and have fun with, we could be great together!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 8, 2025, 7:52 am

Story
Hey there, I’m Reece! 🐾✨ At 2 years old and 82 pounds, I’m a handsome, smart, and well-mannered Boxer mix with a rich brown and black coat that makes me quite the looker! But I’m not just about looks—I’ve got brains and good manners too! I already know sit, stay, and down, and I’m polite and quiet in my kennel—no barking or fussing from me! I also walk nicely on a leash, so I’d love to take strolls with you and show off my good behavior. I was found lost and brought to the shelter on 02/10/2025, but I’m ready to find my forever home. I’m already neutered, fully vaccinated, and waiting for someone special to see what an amazing companion I can be. Could that be you? Come meet me at cage #849, and don’t forget my ID: 8049! I promise to be the best boy you’ve ever met. 💙🐾 Love, Reece Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
