Story
This beautiful Boxer mix is Poppy! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 11/4, and no one has come to reclaim her. Poppy is now keeping her paws crossed for a new forever home where she will be loved and kept safe so that she never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know Poppy and describe her as friendly and sweet, but initially a little shy. This is probably due to the loud, overwhelming shelter environment. We're sure once she's in a loving home, her personality will really shine! Poppy is attentive to the people around her and does know how to sit nicely when asked. It appears she has had puppies in the past, but she'll soon be taking the "no more puppies" pledge. If Poppy sounds like the new BFF you've been searching for, please come meet her today! Poppy is approximately 2 years old, and she weighs 43 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Poppy is waiting patiently in run 82; her ID # is 7344. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Bentley is so loving and loyal. He is so chilled but alerts you when someone is approaching the house - a true protector. He has been the love of my life for 9 years since his birth and unfortunately my job is requiring me to travel abroad and Bentley needs a stable loving parent and/or family. He is motivated by snacks - his favorite is sweet potato doggie treats. He loves to play - wants you to pretend you’re taking his favorite toy away from him - he loves it! I feel so loved and safe in his presence and you will to. He deserves the absolute best parent(s) who can give him the love and care.

Story
Claire is a sweet and spunky 4-year-old pup with a big heart. She’s looking for a forever home where she can be the only pet, ensuring she gets all the love and attention she deserves. Why you’ll love Claire: Active and Energetic: Claire thrives with daily walks or a secure, fenced yard to run and play. She’s your perfect exercise buddy! Loyal Companion: Claire is happiest when she’s close to her people. She’s a cuddle champion and loves nothing more than snuggling up for pets and affection. Personality Plus: While Claire can be a little wary of certain sounds (like thunder or vacuums) and isn’t a fan of motorcycles, her quirks only make her more lovable. A little extra care: Claire does have some anxiety, so she needs a family who can be patient and understanding. She does best when crated while you're away to keep her safe and prevent her from chewing on things.

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, though I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers.  Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo type home would be a good fit for me. I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun! I was a very good boy, calm and sweet for my shelter bath – and I also enjoyed a nice shower in my temp. foster home.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I’m doing well in my little room at Mostly Mutts and I did well in my crate in a temp. foster home I visited. / I’ve had only a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule, and did well in a temp. foster home I visited, so I think I’ll do well in my new home once I know our schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them when the volunteers break them out at the shelter.  I can entertain myself with a toy while you're busy, or if you prefer, I'd love to play fetch — just throw me a ball!  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting and some cuddles with my people.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  I absolutely love car rides, so let's hit the road and find some nice, more quiet places to explore together! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 1, 2025, 11:37 am

Story
A SWEET & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 38 lbs.    Hi, I’m Kaylyn!  I was rescued from animal control, and I sure am happy about that!  I’ve been enjoying my time with the nice volunteers and now I hear that I’m ready to find my new family to love and be loved by – yippie!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, and I wanted to play with them, too.  But sometimes, the shelter environment has stressed me out during playdates, so it’s been a bit hit or miss.  I’ve also pulled towards other dogs that I see on my walks because I’m so excited and just want to play with them!  So, if you have a dog at home already who would like a friend, let’s meet with my trainer away from the shelter to see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as fun, playful, friendly, sweet, and active – ready to enjoy the good life with my family! I can see us going for walks, playing and discovering lots of things to do together. I was a good girl for my shelter bath and brush out too. / My energy level is 6 – 8 and can be higher if I haven’t had enough exercise, so I’d like to be active with my family.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness or gentle leader, as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I think that the stress of being at the shelter got to me, as a dog barked at me while I was on a walk and startled me, so I redirected and snapped at my walker leaving a mark on them.  /  My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners were very good in the prison foster training program.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to zoom around in the MM play yard with the volunteers, so I’m sure I’d enjoy a fenced yard in my new home where we can play together.  I also love playing with toys and spending time with people.  On our recent Georgia snow day, I had the absolute best time catching snowballs that the volunteers threw for me!  / I can’t think of any dislikes but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re looking for a wonderful friend to be active and have fun with, we could be great together!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 25, 2025, 12:22 pm

‘THREE STOOGES’ THEMED PUPPY:  Approx. 2-3 months old / Approx. 10 lbs. & growing Hi there, I’m one of the adorable Three Stooges themed puppies that was rescued from animal control.  My brothers and I have been growing and having fun in our foster home and now we’re ready to find families of our very own!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I love my siblings and am good with the dogs in my foster home, so if you have a dog that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / I haven’t met kitties yet, but I’m very young so I’d likely do well with them if they like puppies. / I love the kids in my foster home that are 12 years old and under, so if you have kids around that age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as playful and curious with plenty of energy to explore and learn.  They also say that I’m a typical puppy who will make a good family member. I’m looking forward to that! The photographer reported that I was super cute, fun and active for my photo shoot. / My energy level is around 6-8, of course that could change as I grow up.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy – so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / I’ll need my new family to crate train me. / I’m in the early stages of potty training and am doing pretty well with consistency and encouragement.  I will need you to finish potty training me in our yard. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love wrestling with my siblings and just having fun!  Playing with my people, napping and playing with toys are also things I enjoy.  I’m sure we will find lots of things we love doing together as I grow up. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    January 14, 2025, 9:03 am

Story
Please meet the amazing Charlie! Charlie was first came to the shelter about a year ago, as a lost doggie. He was adopted by a family that loved him, but they are in an apartment and decided it wasn't a good environment for Charlie. They brought him back to the shelter so he could find a family with a yard and more room for an active young dog. Charlie is a great dog with a great personality and is curious to know everything! He would love to be apart of an active family that would like to include in all of your adventures! He is very sweet, cute and very playful. Just a doll! Wouldn't you agree? His former family says he is house- and crate-trained, and good with kids and other dogs, but not fond of cats. He is quiet in his kennel at the shelter. He is very intelligent as he knows how to sit and he may know more. Can you help this little guy get out of the shelter and continue to live his life happily? Charlie is current on vaccines, neutered and tested negative for heartworms; he will be micro chipped upon his adoption. Charlie is just 2 years old and weighs 44lbs. Please come see him and get to know him better. He will be waiting for you in Run 849. Charlie's ID is 7869. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Hello lovely people! I'd like to take the time to introduce myself if you don't mind. My name is Graham. I decided to take an awesome adventure in hopes I would find a kind and loving home to spend my near golden years and before I could find a proper one, I was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24.Sadly, no one has tried to come look for me and take me home. Its a pretty sad situation and I'm sad because I don't want to spend another minute of my almost golden years in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Especially in a strange kennel for nearly 24 hours a day. I look forward to my walks and playtime with my friends, the volunteers. That little bit of time outside my kennel I cherish. I would really like to spend the rest of my years with you in a warm, welcoming home filled with nothing but love. and kindness everyday. Can you help me make my wish come true soon? I really hope so! I am a cute, sweet, gentle older fellow that deserves a better life. Wouldn't you agree? I am a very intelligent boy, too, and I do know how to sit when asked. So at some point I had someone that loved me enough to teach me some manners. I'm sure I know a little more and you could teach me even if I don't. Spend time with me and I'll show all the great things I could do! I am still eager to please and I can learn anything I don't know already. I will be your best student if you would be my best teacher! Oh, I am 6 years old and I also weigh 63lbs and every pound is nothing but pure love!! Which is a plus in my pup book! If you have got a loving heart to make time for me in your world, then I am your forever boy and I will be waiting for you. Just give me a chance and be patient with me. I would like to be apart of a family again and be wanted and loved and included in everything. I'm still a young pup at heart and a true love bug. Come see me please!! Graham is current on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. He will be tested for heart worms also upon his adoption. Come visit him and allow him to live the rest of his adult life happily. He won't let you down. Graham will be waiting for his guardian angel in Run 26 and his ID is 5893. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Our hearts hurt for Tank. His owner could no longer take care of him and his best friend Lydia. They arrived to the shelter on 9/1. Lydia was adopted and then Tank found a home.
