Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 35 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, though I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 10+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children and toddlers.  Of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo type home would be a good fit for me. I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun! I was a very good boy, calm and sweet for my shelter bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I’m doing well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had only a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule, so I think I’ll do well in my new home once I know our schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them when the volunteers break them out at the shelter.  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 25, 2025, 7:00 pm

Story
A SWEET & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 38 lbs.    Hi, I’m Kaylyn!  I was rescued from animal control, and I sure am happy about that!  I’ve been enjoying my time with the nice volunteers and now I hear that I’m ready to find my new family to love and be loved by – yippie!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, and I wanted to play with them, too.  But sometimes, the shelter environment has stressed me out during playdates, so it’s been a bit hit or miss.  I’ve also pulled towards other dogs that I see on my walks because I’m so excited and just want to play with them!  So, if you have a dog at home already who would like a friend, let’s meet with my trainer away from the shelter to see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as fun, playful, friendly, sweet, and active – ready to enjoy the good life with my family! I can see us going for walks, playing and discovering lots of things to do together. I was a good girl for my shelter bath and brush out too. / My energy level is 6 – 8 and can be higher if I haven’t had enough exercise, so I’d like to be active with my family.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness or gentle leader, as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I think that the stress of being at the shelter got to me, as a dog barked at me while I was on a walk and startled me, so I redirected and snapped at my walker leaving a mark on them.  /  My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners were very good in the prison foster training program.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to zoom around in the MM play yard with the volunteers, so I’m sure I’d enjoy a fenced yard in my new home where we can play together.  I also love playing with toys and spending time with people.  On our recent Georgia snow day, I had the absolute best time catching snowballs that the volunteers threw for me!  / I can’t think of any dislikes but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re looking for a wonderful friend to be active and have fun with, we could be great together!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 25, 2025, 12:22 pm

‘THREE STOOGES’ THEMED PUPPY:  Approx. 2-3 months old / Approx. 10 lbs. & growing Hi there, I’m one of the adorable Three Stooges themed puppies that was rescued from animal control.  My brothers and I have been growing and having fun in our foster home and now we’re ready to find families of our very own!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I love my siblings and am good with the dogs in my foster home, so if you have a dog that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / I haven’t met kitties yet, but I’m very young so I’d likely do well with them if they like puppies. / I love the kids in my foster home that are 12 years old and under, so if you have kids around that age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster describes me as playful and curious with plenty of energy to explore and learn.  They also say that I’m a typical puppy who will make a good family member. I’m looking forward to that! The photographer reported that I was super cute, fun and active for my photo shoot. / My energy level is around 6-8, of course that could change as I grow up.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy – so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / I’ll need my new family to crate train me. / I’m in the early stages of potty training and am doing pretty well with consistency and encouragement.  I will need you to finish potty training me in our yard. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love wrestling with my siblings and just having fun!  Playing with my people, napping and playing with toys are also things I enjoy.  I’m sure we will find lots of things we love doing together as I grow up. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    January 14, 2025, 9:03 am

A SUPER SWEET GUY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 49 lbs. & needs to gain some weight Hi, my name is Nooney!  I found myself in need of a good home, so some folks helped me work my way to Mostly Mutts for which I am grateful!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet.      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  There was an 8 lb. Yorkie in my former foster home, and I did very well with her, though I’m big and did sometimes walk over her a bit, but I think it’s more about my size than anything else.  I choose which dogs I like, and in general I prefer small dogs, though I have now met some bigger dogs (50lbs.) in the prison/foster training program and I played with them. This does take a while, and a quiet controlled environment is a must. If you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if I choose you as a friend. / A temp. home I visited reported that I should not live with cats. / There were high school aged kids in my foster home, and I was great with them!  I haven’t met young kids, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’ve been described as super friendly, loyal and a personable dog that is very loving and wants to be with people all the time – a good Velcro dog I like to say. I’m super sweet and cuddly with a wagging tail that expresses my joy! I have a great spirit and am very loving and I’ll sleep at your feet.  I’ve also got a reputation of being ‘handsome, smart and sweet’ – I bet you will agree. I can be reactive towards some strangers on walks so please take some time introducing me to strangers – my trainer will show you how.  I’m a strong boy, but don’t seem to know it. I do like to run, so please don’t let me off leash. / My energy level is around a 5-7 – lower in my former foster home, but higher in my temp. home. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I take treats nicely out of my people’s hands, so my continued training should be fun – and yummy! / I don’t love the crate, but I do calm down after a little bit.  I didn’t seem to need a crate in my temp. home as I was trustworthy in the home. / I had good potty manners in my former foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to be with people and enjoy my walks with them.  I always enjoy bones and tennis balls and I’m ready to receive belly rubs, too.  I enjoy my time both inside and outside with my people and with both men and women alike. I find car rides enjoyable, too. / I am very afraid of loud trucks and have lunged at cars and a large moving truck on my walks, so please hold my leash tightly.  I’m also not a big fan of being alone much or meeting people too quickly.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m on an inexpensive medication for anxiety.  I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 24, 2025, 6:19 am

Story
This beautiful Boxer mix is Poppy! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 11/4, and no one has come to reclaim her. Poppy is now keeping her paws crossed for a new forever home where she will be loved and kept safe so that she never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know Poppy and describe her as friendly and sweet, but initially a little shy. This is probably due to the loud, overwhelming shelter environment. We're sure once she's in a loving home, her personality will really shine! Poppy is attentive to the people around her and does know how to sit nicely when asked. It appears she has had puppies in the past, but she'll soon be taking the "no more puppies" pledge. If Poppy sounds like the new BFF you've been searching for, please come meet her today! Poppy is approximately 2 years old, and she weighs 43 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Poppy is waiting patiently in run 82; her ID # is 7344. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Bentley is so loving and loyal. He is so chilled but alerts you when someone is approaching the house - a true protector. He has been the love of my life for 9 years since his birth and unfortunately my job is requiring me to travel abroad and Bentley needs a stable loving parent and/or family. He is motivated by snacks - his favorite is sweet potato doggie treats. He loves to play - wants you to pretend you’re taking his favorite toy away from him - he loves it! I feel so loved and safe in his presence and you will to. He deserves the absolute best parent(s) who can give him the love and care.

Story
A SWEET & FUN GIRL:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 29 lbs. & needs to gain a little more weight Hi, my name is Danica!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so glad they did!  I’m having a great time in my foster home and have just heard that I’m ready to be adopted by my furever family!  So exciting!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I really like the other dogs in my foster home and am learning cues from them for when it’s time to stop playing, so if you have a sweet dog at home already, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I met and love the neighborhood kids in my foster home that are around 9 years old, and I recently met some kids at Mostly Mutts around 10 years old and liked them too, so if you have kids around those ages, let’s meet!  Best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Before going into my foster home, I was known around the shelter as the ‘sweet and active girl with the cutest underbite’.  I have a playful nature and – though a bit nervous initially, my foster dad won me over with a treat!  Now I love and trust him too.  I have an affectionate and very friendly demeanor with a good amount of energy. I made a good impression during my photo shoot with the MM photographer, and I was calm and wonderful for my shelter bath and ear cleaning.  A loving and fun girl, I bet you will agree that I am a great companion for a lucky family. / My energy level is 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / My crate manners are good in my foster home – I sleep in it quietly at nighttime. / My potty habits have been good in my foster home on a schedule.  I’ve started going to the door but don’t bark that I need to go out yet.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love attention and especially those good neck and belly rubs. I also like soft dog beds, naps and toys, so let’s play. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have an old break in my right rear leg that the vet checked out and can see that it’s healing well. It doesn’t cause me any pain, but I could get arthritis a little earlier than some other dogs, so I’m on an inexpensive over-the-counter Cosequin tablet daily to help with that and should stay on it for life.  I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 14, 2025, 9:03 am

Story
A SWEETHEART OF A PUPPY:  Approx. 7 months old / Approx. 30 lbs. & growing Hi, my name is Juno – a pretty girl with beautiful eyes!  Somehow, I ended up at animal control as a younger pup.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts came for me, and I have been soaking up the love and attention from the dedicated volunteers.  I was adopted for several weeks but it wasn’t a good fit, so I’m back with MM’s and in the prison/foster training program learning a lot. Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs in the prison/foster training program, and I enjoy playing with them, so if you have a nice dog that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me a as ‘a real sweetheart who just wants love’.  I have typical puppy higher energy and I’m so sweet that the photographer said I was her ‘favorite’ (sshhhh … don’t tell the others).  Affectionate and playful with a gentle spirit, you are sure to fall in love! My trainer reports that I’m the sweetest dog ever and that’s saying a lot! / My energy level is 6-8 so let’s plan to be active together. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ commands and my trainers expect me to be a graduate very soon, because I’m a fast learner! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been very good in the prison/foster training program, so keep me on a good schedule and I think I’ll do very well.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Like most puppies, I LOVE to play – though I am also quite the love bug and welcome every opportunity to cuddle and give kisses.  Fall is my favorite season, because I LOVE to play in the leaves.  I don’t just chase them and jump in leaf piles.  I actually ‘surf’ through the leaves – making tracks while dragging myself along in the perfect sploot – so cute! I also love to play with tennis balls. / I’m not a fan of the rain, as it spoils my fun play sessions.  Otherwise, I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed.  If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.   January 29, 2025, 12:02 pm
