Story
We got Bandit from the shelter late last year. He is a really good dog when you are at home. He is very very sweet and loving with my young kids, leaves my dog hating cats alone, and would cuddle all day if you let him. He is really excited to greet you when you get home and is attached at your hip. Unfortunately he has really bad separation anxiety and neither me or my husband are home during the day. He has escaped every crate we have tried, will go through the trash, eat any food left out, has chewed a few toys, and will jump up on everything. There are times we come home and he hasn’t done anything, but it’s a common theme. He would be a perfect family dog for a family with kids who is home more often and has a yard he can go in when left, or someone with more time and the means to get him some training. He is SWEET and very loving and needs a forever family.

Story
Bossy along with his brother and sister were found after being abandoned on a back road. They were very skittish, and it took a while to trap them. They had either not had much human interaction, or the interaction they had was not positive. Bossy is a shy pup who’s still learning to trust the world around him. He has just started letting us walk him on a leash. This means he can get out and play with the other dogs too, which he really enjoys. With patience, love, and a quiet environment, Bossy is sure to continue gaining confidence and will make a great companion for the right person or family. He would probably do best with a confident dog sibling to show him the ropes. His birthday is 4/24/22, he is neutered, up to date on shots, and weighs 35lbs.  *************************************************************************** This pet comes with an implanted 24 PetWatch microchip and free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service. *************************************************************************** This dog is available for adoption at the Humane Society of McCormick County is SC for an adoption fee. Story
Meet Princess, a sweet and gentle pup who’s looking for a family to help her build confidence and show her the love she deserves! Princess and her two brothers were found after being abandoned on a back road. They were very skittish, and it took a while to trap them. They had either not had much human interaction, or the interaction they had was not positive. Princess made some progress at the shelter, but we felt like she needed more one-on-one attention. She entered the Leash on Life Prison Pup Program in July of 2024, where she’s been working hard on socialization and gaining trust. Born on 4/20/23, Princess is a playful 40-pound bundle of joy who’s spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her shots.  Princess is shy at first, but once she warms up, she blossoms into a playful, energetic companion. She loves fetch, tug of war, and playing with other dogs—she even thinks she’s as big as a Great Dane! She’s also a bit of a goofball, enjoying outdoor adventures like playing with bugs. But when it’s time to relax, Princess is a total couch potato and may snuggle up on your lap for some extra love if she's in the mood. This smart girl already knows several commands, including “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “place,” and “come,” and she walks beautifully on a loose leash. She’s also housetrained and will wait for her "eat-eat" command before mealtime—especially impressive because Princess is highly food-motivated, making training easier! While she’s cautious of new people and may bark when she first meets someone, Princess isn’t aggressive and just needs time to feel comfortable. She’s very observant and likes to take things at her own pace, so patience and understanding will help her come out of her shell. She’s a little wary of big birds (who can blame her?) and tends to shy away from strangers on walks, but with the right guidance, she’ll continue to grow in confidence. Princess is a loving, calm, and loyal companion who’s ready to find her forever home. If you’re looking for a sweet pup to be your lap dog, playmate, and best friend, Princess might just be the perfect match for you! Could you be the one to give Princess the happy ending she’s been waiting for? *************************************************************************** This pet comes with an implanted 24 PetWatch microchip and free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service. *************************************************************************** This dog is available for adoption at the Humane Society of McCormick County is SC for an adoption fee. Story
Memphis is approximately 1 year and 7 months old and weighs 65 lbs. He was found as a stray and never claimed. Memphis is a sweet boy who loves cuddling on the couch. He rides well in the car and loves to go places. When he sees his harness and leash come out he gets very excited. Once out the door he is so hyped up that he pulls on the leash. Memphis enjoys toys, bones and treats. He takes treats gently and knows the following commands – sit, paw, and down. He loves to hug so he will jump up on you to get one so homes with small children is not ideal. Memphis will run after a ball but has not mastered the return. He would rather you come to him. Unsure if he is housebroken, but he does not go to the bathroom in the interior part of his kennel. Memphis is current on all vaccines and neutered. He will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Story
Misfit is quite the character as her name suggests. She was pulled from an animal control shelter in Georgia and being a pittie mix and having special needs put her high on the euth list. Misfit has a left club foot and doesn't really let that slow her down but because of the deformity long walks and rough surfaces are not good for her. She is crate trained but has never been inside of a house so crating and schedule training are important when transitioning to a home. She also has a medical problem with her trachea. We truly don't know if this was a birth defect or from abuse and/or injury. She snorts and makes weird noises due to the drainage and this sometimes freaks out other dogs because they don't understand what she's trying to communicate. The noise may be annoying to people so an adopter with hearing loss would be great, LOL! She has played with other dogs but is dog selective so a meet and greet is necessary.Misfit is in good health otherwise and on no medications other than preventitives. Since it's a process for her to feel comfortable meeting new people, several meet and greets would be necessary and it would be best for her adopter to live locally to make this process more convenient. It would be so rewarding to win this sweet girl's trust and be able to give her a loving home!

Story
Harley Quinn- lovingly called Quinn is a happy girl despite her past having come from a situation where she was made to breed. She loves to lie around on a koosy bed or bathe in the sun on cool days. Quinn is sweet and playful, but can still get mouthy at times so no children under 8. She is dog selective so a meet and greet with family dog will be needed.
