Story
If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and smart pup, look no further than Angel! This brave girl is always up for a game of fetch or a nice walk in the park. She's also a major cuddle bug and will happily curl up on the couch with you for a movie night. Don't let her gentle and independent spirit fool you, though - this playful pup has a ton of energy and loves to go on adventures. She's an expert sniffer and is curious about everything, and she's always game to make a new friend. (Just as long as they don't have four legs - sorry, Angel is not a fan of cats!) If you're looking for a furry companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Angel is the one for you.

If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. Story
Maximus is a very calm and quiet dog. He loves company and he loves having bath. He'll let you know when he needs to go the bathroom. He listens and follows commands like - sit, show me a good boy (and he'll sit down), let's go (and he'll head out to the door), wipe your feety ( and he'll step on the door mat and sit), wait, move back, go in the shower, come here, high five (and he'll give his paw), go to your bed, etc. He loves being petted. He's playful and loves to run around in an empty park.

Story
**Athena is one of our longest residents and has been in the rescue for THREE YEARS. Transport is available anywhere in the continental US for serious adopters** They call me a purebred "Bully" but all I want is your love. Athena had been brought in to Lodi Animal Services as a stray with her boyfriend. Her owners were made aware that they were in the shelter but refused to take Athena back. Her previous owner had bred her many, many times and sold all of her puppies for profit. He refused to pick her up when he picked up the other dog because she is now too old. Over the course of four years Athena was neglected and used as an incubator for her previous owner's pocket. Check out Athena's cutest moments in her playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwmfTKLWdExr_tb3wSORm49t While in foster care, Athena has begun to learn what real love is. She now lives inside in a nice warm house, she is receiving the proper nutrition (when dropped off at Animal Services she was notably skinny with all her ribs showing). She loves to cuddle and spend time on the couch. Athena has the cutest motorcycle bark that sounds like a motorcycle engine flooding. She truly is such a sweet girl once you build even a little trust with kindness and treats. Athena prefers female humans and only the most submissive male dogs, but warms up to male humans as well with some love and patience. When she first arrived in foster care, she would cower when the resident man was in the room. After a couple weeks of love and patience, she was cuddled up so sweetly with him on the couch. When meeting new humans now, Athena may growl but generally warms up to cuddling within a few minutes. When first meeting new dogs she can be a jerk and left to her own choices she will choose violence, but with slow introductions to calm, very submissive males she does amazing. She made fast friends with fellow foster Liam, a male of similar size and they were absolutely the cutest pair. Together, though, they were definitely troublemakers so Athena would also do great as the only dog without any friends to lead astray in mischief. Liam has since been adopted. Athena has now been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated and is ready to go home. She is looking for her forever home with a family that will love her for her. Athena is now crate trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash but is very excited (likely she was never been walked in her previous living situation). She is otherwise a chill couch potato who is looking for a loving home to finally relax in. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for private and/or group training at no additional cost to help ensure a successful adoption. To meet Athena, fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Once an application is filled out, our volunteers will reach out to you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.

Story
**Yeti is one of our longest residents and has been looking for a home for three years! Transport is available anywhere within continental US for serious adopters** Yeti is a snow monster with a heart filled with warmth and love. He was saved minutes before euthanasia. He has his own Youtube playlist where you can see him doing some agility and having fun with friends: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwkPwbl5UZ1Q1gSW4eVZ_vL- He loves to run laps around his foster yard but yearns for his own forever. He loves to play, especially with his flirt pole, a pole with a toy attached by string but for dogs! He is one of those rare finds that is active and a couch potato. He engages heavily in self-play and does not require you to throw his toys around to have fun with them. Yeti is good with older kids, and absolutely basks in their affection. While Yeti is kind with all children, he is a bit too excited and jumpy for most small children. Yeti has made several dog friends in the past and played very well with all of them, but he needs very slow introductions. Unfortunately, when Yeti first meets other dogs he tends to be pretty reactive to them. He has improved tremendously with training but will need continued training in his forever home. Private and/or group training is available at no cost for local adopters. Yeti is a true love bug once he trusts you, everyday he greets his foster mom with a hug and kiss before she starts her work. At night and for meal times, Yeti is crate trained! He loves his crate as it is a safe haven, or his own personal den! He is very treat motivated and loves a peanut butter kong! Yeti has a sensitive stomach that requires him to drink water from a raised dish at room temperature in small amounts at a time. Otherwise, Yeti has a tendency to gulp down water too quickly and vomit it back up while running around. Yeti has a healthy appetite and does not otherwise vomit food. Yeti has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations, bring this snow monster home to his forever family today

Story
**Pappas is one of our longest residents and has been in our rescue over TWO years. Transport is available anywhere within the continental US for serious adopters.** Pappas has two hearts and it frankly shows in the amount of love this boy has to give. The first heart is the one you would expect within his body, and the other is the cutest little pattern on the side of his chest. Pappas is a sweetheart who adores just about every human he has ever met. He likes to cuddle and will lay at your feet for hours while you work or watch TV. Check out Pappas' video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6Cwkme5a9p_jT7SSnVtisoWi4 Pappas is crate-trained and knows commands such as sit, lay down, and stay. He is also trained to stay on his bed when guests first enter the home! Pappas is house-trained and is generally not destructive with anything except his stuffed toys. Pappas previously participated in shelter playgroups for gentle play. Unfortunately, due to an incident while he was recovering from surgery, Pappas needs very slow introductions to new dog friends so that he can feel safe. Pappas is not recommended to live with cats or small dogs due to prey drive. Pappas came into Better World Rescue from Stockton Shelter, where he was saved within 2 minutes of his euthanasia deadline. He was almost a goner simply because he had a mass on his rear end. Thankfully our veterinarian has removed the mass with good margins and no further treatment is expected. His butt is looking good as new! Pappas has also had a very rough life and was a frequent flyer overall at Stockton Shelter. He had an FHO surgery and knee surgery due to both poor living situations and untreated traumatic injury prior to rescue. He walks a little funny but the surgery has greatly reduced his previous pain from these injuries. Pappas is microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for private and/or group training at no additional cost to help ensure a successful adoption. To meet Pappas, fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Once an application is filled out, our volunteers will reach out to you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.
