Velvet hippo Stanley is here to steal your heart (and maybe your treats, too)! Stanley is estimated to be 3 months old and is the sweetest little gentleman. One look into his beautiful eyes, and it's hard not to fall in love. And if his dashing looks don't win you over, his endearing and goofy personality definitely will! Stanley is looking for an active family to help him learn all of his basic manners and be the best boy he can be. He currently weighs around 12lbs, and we estimate he will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Stanley came to us after he was found as a stray all by himself and brought to a local shelter. The family who found him kept him for a week but ultimately decided that they weren't ready for the responsibility of raising a puppy. Stanley hasn't been with us for long, but he has already won all of our hearts, and we can't wait for him to meet his fur-ever family. Stanley is a sweet and playful boy who always knows how to have some fun. He has been such a joy to get to know, and he always keeps his foster parents amused with his goofy antics. He has impressed us with how quickly he picks things up, and he has already learned to sit and lie down. He needs a family who can dedicate the time to continue his training and socialization.  Stanley hasn't met any dogs yet, but we think he would love another playful pup to play with and help mentor him. He also could do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with dog friends. Stanley has been doing well respecting the cat in his foster home and could do well living with a dog-savvy cat with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Stanley could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Stanley has been doing great with his housetraining, but is still learning, and his new family will need to be patient as they continue his training. He has been doing great with his crate training and is happy to sleep through the night in his crate and for short periods during the day. Stanley is such a darling boy, and he deserves a family just as great as him. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age.
