Story
Ivy is a Courtesy Post Only and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog. SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the owner with respect to this dog. You must contact her adoption coordinator Ana at Ana@thriveanimalrescue.com for further information.  Ivy is a sweet, silly, cuddly, and affectionate girl - as of September 2024, she has been with us waiting for her forever family for over 456 days which is mind-blowing to staff at Thrive because of how great of a dog she is. Let's prioritize giving this lovebug a much deserved home for her to call her own!! Personality : She is a medium to high energy dog who loves to play - she enjoys mental and physical stimulation such as going for hikes or long walks/runs. She loves playing with other dogs and her people friends, but then she’s happy to relax and sunbathe in the yard after to decompress. Her favorite move is to flop on her back and show you her belly to ask for rubs :) Her Boxer zoomies will make you laugh! Training : Ivy has been going to doggie day care multiple times per week to hang out with all of her dog friends and has been doing great!! Despite her roughhousing playstyle with other large dogs, she is extremely gentle with puppies. She walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands.  Ivy is on a special low-fat diet and we recommend that adopters keep her on this upon adoption to ensure she’s in tip-top health. The perfect forever family : She would do great in an active household with a young couple who loves to hike or go on adventures, and is good with kids 13+. She would likely love another active doggie friend. Ivy is available for a long-term committed foster or forever family. For further information or to meet Ivy, please contact Ana, Adoption Coordinator at Ana@thriveanimalrescue.com.  December 10, 2024, 4:48 pm

Story
Meet Abby! This beautiful 7-month-old, 28-pound princess is truly the most adorable and cute little girl you'll ever meet. She is a little survivor of 12, her mom was abandoned and at one day old, Abby and her 11 siblings were left in a box in the middle of nowhere with no shade. When we came for them after receiving a report from a neighbor of the owner, there were only 5 babies left alive, and we found the rest already dead inside a plastic bag with a knot in it. Abby grew up happy with her litter, they are very active and loving little ones. She is learning to walk on her leash, lives well with dogs and cats and is the most chubby of her litter. She is the smiliest and is very intelligent. It would be ideal for her to grow up in a home with children, she likes walks and although she is a little shy at first, she usually comes out of her shell quickly. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Tyson is a very happy go lucky dog.  He was pulled from Tijuana Animal Control February  2022.  He was very emaciated and very sick.  He weighed only 33 pounds at intake with us.  He has gained more than thirty pounds while in our care.  His tail had to be amputated as he had "Happy tail."  He could not stop wagging his tail and would break the tail open and spray blood all over everything by wagging it really hard and bumping itno things.  He is an amazing boy.  He loves adults, kids, other dogs, and just about everything.  He will be a wonderful addition to any family's home! ##1328861##

Story
My journey started as a stray darting in and out of traffic on a busy street and seeking cover in the adjacent riverbed.  I could be seen at night going house to house, looking for food and especially loved the yards with dogs.  Once humanely trapped, no owner came for me so here I am looking for my forever family.  I would do best with another confident dog in the home.  Once I trust I am incredibly sweet and eager to please.  I need someone willing to be patient and love me unconditionally while I adjust to my new environment.  I LOVE dogs and am high energy when it comes to play.  I prefer women and have a deep seated fear of men but can learn to trust.  I get to enjoy outings for pack walks but don't do well "sitting" in chaotic settings.  The noises, people and activity still scare me, even a year later.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  I would love to find that person who will let me learn to trust, grow into their heart and let me be their new home body where I feel safe.  To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1339002##

Story
Hi, my name is Stella. I love going on walks/jogs, cuddles/kisses and being around my people. I’m a very sweet and gentle girl who loves to play fetch! I can either be super active with you or lounge around all day, I’m pretty content with either. I am currently in a foster home which has helped my confidence so much! I`ve learned to use the crate, I`m not afraid of loud noises, love other dogs, and LOVEEE kids. I just want to love on everyone. Here are some things my foster mom has to say:`Stella is a lovable companion. She enjoys cuddles, giving kisses, going for walks, and laying in the sunshine. She walks very well on a leash, likes to play fetch with a tennis ball, enjoys being active, but is also content to lay in her dogbed and chill. She does not have food aggression, doesn’t beg for food, and is gentle with objects around the house. She will make an excellent furry family member for anyone who wants a loving, kind-hearted soul and loves kisses!`

Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Story
This big girl was found in the middle of nowhere, it took us 5 days to capture her, as she was afraid. Once in our hands, she understood that nothing was wrong and gave us her trust. She is a big goofy girl, she doesn't measure her strength and is great for a very active person who likes to run around and play ball. Holly deserves lots of love and loves to receive it, we know her looks can be intimidating but she is the cutest and most adorable little girl you will ever meet! She is learning to sit to wait for her food, but she is just too playful and bouncy! Always with lots of energy and love to give. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Story
How this pet arrived: Winnie was brought in by a community member. At SDHS:Winnie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed and is now ready for her new home! Why Winnie might be the one for you: Isn't Winnie gorgeous with her striking white vest and darling ears? She is a big girl who may be shy when you first meet her, but don't let that fool you! She absolutely loves her people. Though she prefers to take things slow, with a little patience, she blossoms to reveal the loving companion our staff know her to be. Winnie has become a calm, mellow dog in our care. She has discovered that she likes calm over action. She takes her walks slowly and without drama. She likes outdoor space where she can meander at her pace. She will want a dog savvy owner in a quiet home and provides her a predictable routine. She would to curl up by her person's side and take many naps a day although rumor has it that she snores. She wants to continue learning new skills, as she's already mastered quite a few during her time in our care! We would love to tell you more about Winnie Please come to our campus and meet Winnie to see why you should give this lovely lady a chance! AT BEHAVIOR CENTER: This animal is receiving a little extra support from specialized Caregivers and an assigned Trainer.
