Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cute young boxer hound mix puppy.Doc has been with us for wayyy too long and he doesn't understand why :(   Doc was abandoned as a puppy at a construction site in La Paz, BCS, Mexico along with his five other siblings. Fortunately, the whole litter was quickly rescued and they all have been adopted except Mr. Doc. Doc loves cuddling with his humans and he is good with kids. He also absolutely LOVES to get outside and run. He would be a great companion on walks, hikes, and runs and a great fit for someone active. Doc has good recall and does really well off-leash at the dog park! Doc is fully vaccinated, sterilized and ready to find his forever home. Are you ready to make this sweet boy part of your family?  Here is some information about Doc from his foster family:  "He’s been such a good boy! He learns so fast, is so gentle and keeps himself entertained, so he’s doesn’t need a lot, just love and some running time! He doesn’t bark much, LOVES to play with other dogs of all sizes, is great with people, and just encountered some young kids that he did great with! He’s also great off leash at parks and unless there something extra distracting, he checks in and goes back to playing. He loves to snuggle too, and that’s of course my favorite part! Doc is just the best!  " Visit this link to submit an application for Doc! We are looking for a foster home for him ASAP: https://woofsandwagsdogrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=3225Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 5:43 pm

Story
Enzo is a tender, affectionate and friendly boy but also shy. Calm and submissive temperament. He gets along perfectly with other dogs, cats and even children of all ages. Enzo is a low-activity dog who prefers to spend his time sleeping or just lying down. It is the ideal companion to spend long moments of peace. It is not noisy; He barks little and does not howl. He may be shy at first but once he gains confidence you will meet a very sweet dog who will follow you everywhere. He loves eating treats, taking naps in the sun, taking quiet walks, and cuddling with each other. It is not destructive or bite things. You can put clothes on him or leave him with a harness without problem. He knows how to sit, wait for his food and walk on a leash. He has experience living with other dogs of different ages and sizes, both females and males, and with cats. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. Story
Meet Abby! This beautiful 7-month-old, 28-pound princess is truly the most adorable and cute little girl you'll ever meet. She is a little survivor of 12, her mom was abandoned and at one day old, Abby and her 11 siblings were left in a box in the middle of nowhere with no shade. When we came for them after receiving a report from a neighbor of the owner, there were only 5 babies left alive, and we found the rest already dead inside a plastic bag with a knot in it. Abby grew up happy with her litter, they are very active and loving little ones. She is learning to walk on her leash, lives well with dogs and cats and is the most chubby of her litter. She is the smiliest and is very intelligent. It would be ideal for her to grow up in a home with children, she likes walks and although she is a little shy at first, she usually comes out of her shell quickly. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Tyson is a very happy go lucky dog.  He was pulled from Tijuana Animal Control February  2022.  He was very emaciated and very sick.  He weighed only 33 pounds at intake with us.  He has gained more than thirty pounds while in our care.  His tail had to be amputated as he had "Happy tail."  He could not stop wagging his tail and would break the tail open and spray blood all over everything by wagging it really hard and bumping itno things.  He is an amazing boy.  He loves adults, kids, other dogs, and just about everything.  He will be a wonderful addition to any family's home! ##1328861##

Story
My journey started as a stray darting in and out of traffic on a busy street and seeking cover in the adjacent riverbed.  I could be seen at night going house to house, looking for food and especially loved the yards with dogs.  Once humanely trapped, no owner came for me so here I am looking for my forever family.  I would do best with another confident dog in the home.  Once I trust I am incredibly sweet and eager to please.  I need someone willing to be patient and love me unconditionally while I adjust to my new environment.  I LOVE dogs and am high energy when it comes to play.  I prefer women and have a deep seated fear of men but can learn to trust.  I get to enjoy outings for pack walks but don't do well "sitting" in chaotic settings.  The noises, people and activity still scare me, even a year later.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  I would love to find that person who will let me learn to trust, grow into their heart and let me be their new home body where I feel safe.  To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1339002##

Story
Hi, my name is Stella. I first came to the shelter on 8/9/2024. I went into a foster home for a short time and then came back. Change is hard for me, isn’t it hard for anyone? What if you didn’t understand why things where changing? How scary would that be? How hard would it be to not know what will happen day by day? That’s the life I’m living right now. I LOVE people but coming to the shelter and then going into a new home make me nervous at first. I shake and lick my paws, similar to nervous people who bite at their nails too short. Believe it or not, the shelter has been the most sense of security I have. I used to shake a lot in the kennel, but I have gotten better because I can predict the routine. Being able to have a predictable routine helps dogs understand more. I always seek out comfort from humans and look to them to help guide me. I enjoy eating treats and playing with toys! I’m gentle and might do okay around kids. I would be a great match for a work-from-home person. If you don’t work from home that’s okay, just give me a couple days to get use to you and the new place. Play the TV when you leave and give me some long-lasting tasty treats to hold me over until I see you. I really don’t want to be alone… and I’m so alone in this kennel by myself.

Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Story
This big girl was found in the middle of nowhere, it took us 5 days to capture her, as she was afraid. Once in our hands, she understood that nothing was wrong and gave us her trust. She is a big goofy girl, she doesn't measure her strength and is great for a very active person who likes to run around and play ball. Holly deserves lots of love and loves to receive it, we know her looks can be intimidating but she is the cutest and most adorable little girl you will ever meet! She is learning to sit to wait for her food, but she is just too playful and bouncy! Always with lots of energy and love to give. Story
Queenie's foster is committed to helping her find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to her foster directly at: FosterFurMommy@gmail.com How this pet arrived: Queenie was brought in by a community member. At SDHS:Queenie has been vaccinated, microchipped and is spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Meet sweet Queenie! We aren't positive, but we think she may be a mermaid trapped in an adorable dog's body - this girl is simply obsessed with water! When she's not playing in the sprinkler or drinking from the hose, she enjoys finding the coziest spot around and chewing on squeaky toys. If you want to feel like the most special person in the world, Queenie is your girl. That's because it takes her a little time to warm up to new people, but once she feels comfortable, you'll be welcomed into Queenie's inner circle - and she'll reward your patience with LOTS of kisses and unwavering loyalty! Because she can be nervous in new surroundings with unfamiliar people, Queenie is looking for a calm home where she can settle in, feel safe and thrive. And back to Queenie's inner circle, she appreciates friends who will go at her pace and respect her boundaries, so an adult-only home would be best. Queenie wants to settle into a loving family more than anything, and she's just waiting for compassionate adopters who will give her the time she needs to shine. If you can offer her the patience, consistency, snuggles and fun water activities she needs to thrive, please reach out to her foster at FosterFurMommy@gmail.com!
