Story
Vir came to us after being abandoned by his family. A good samaritan took Vir under their care and found him a place at Lily’s. Despite a sad past of neglect, abuse and abandonment, Vir is a total love and can’t get enough human affection. Vir is good with other dogs, both big and small. He is a quiet guy and does the cutest excited dance when new people come into the room. He walks well on leash and is very food motivated. Vir has some rear end weakness so is looking for a home where he can get regular, short walks, but spend the rest of the time as a snuggly couch potato.

Mocha, the delightful Labrador Retriever and Boxer mix, possesses a captivating blend of traits that make her truly special: Mocha’s big heart matches her size, and she showers affection on those she trusts. Regular exercise and playtime will keep her content and happy. If you’re an active family or individual, Mocha will be your perfect partner for hikes, beach outings, and more. She craves excitement! Temperamental with Dogs, While she enjoys canine company, Mocha can be selective. A home where she’s the sole dog might suit her best. Story
To apply or see more of Otto, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/12/20/otto Otto, formerly Joey, was rescued from the Modesto shelter after being placed on the euthanasia list for that night simply due to overcrowding. He did nothing wrong to land himself on that list, but black dogs tend to get overlooked and adolescent large dogs are the most at-risk. Despite the odds stacked against him, this young, lively boy is so deserving of his second chance. Since coming to live with his foster fam and two furry foster siblings, he has been learning sit, down and stay so far. He’s such a fast learner! His leash skills have greatly improved and he is a joy on his daily walks. He has also been on so many new adventures! He LOVES snow shoeing and hiking with his foster family. From his fosters: He is a great outdoor dog but also an amazing snuggle bug at home. The perfect combo! He’s also fine with a good 15-30 minute walk and can chill out when he gets home. We have been working on crate training and it’s going great! He sleeps in his crate at night and when we are out of the house. Otto loves every single human he meets! He loves to jump and give hugs but we are working on that. He also loves other dogs and gets very excited to see them. With the right introduction, he would do great with a buddy to play with in his new home! He would also be great as an only dog. Otto is being fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA Estimated DOB: 9/1/2021 $250 Adoption Donation includes: Neuter, Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella, Microchip Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more!
