Story
Addie has such a positive view on life and loves people despite being abandoned. When she first arrived, she was very confused, and heart broken; she didn't understand where she was and why her family would abandon her. Despite all that Addie, has done a complete 180 and now is searching for her new forever home that will love her, all her life. She is a fun, funky, sweet & goofy girl. She can be a bit shy right at first, but she warms up very quickly. She is up for any adventure, at any time. She also doesn't mind staying home and cuddling. Not good with cats.  If you would like to open your heart and home to this amazing girl, please contact (530)-715-1545.December 29, 2024, 2:13 pm

Story
Faith is a lovable boxer mix who has been waiting patiently for to find a home for over a year! Faith was pretty shy when she first arrived here, but she has come out of her shell and has become much more social! Faith recently went on an off-site field trip! She road well in the car and loved putting her feet in the creek! Faith has made dog friends at the shelter, and could potentially live with another dog pending a dog meet. Faith's adoption fee has been sponsored! If you think you might like to meet this lovely dog, please submit an adoption survey at chicoanimalshelter.org

Story
We got Walter from the Butte Humane Society in Chico, CA on 3/27/24. Although they estimated him to be just over two years old, the vet that examined him in April 2024 said he is just over one year old (est. birthdate: 1/31/23). He is in excellent health. He has been a fun pet to have--- he is playful, fully potty trained, knows many commands, loves car rides and walks in the neighborhood, and comes when he is called. He is microchipped, neutered, and in excellent health. He got along well with our other older (and larger) dog for the first six months, but recently he has started fights between them. The Humane Society subsequently advised us that he was previously aggressive with a smaller dog. We love Walter a lot, but realize he needs to be in a family without other dogs. He is friendly with all strangers inside and outside our home, including children, and he is playful with other dogs he sees outside. He can't seem to share the attention of his people with another dog in the home.

Story
Jasper is a 4 year old boy who loves all kinds of play, attention, and fun! He is always looking to please the people he is around. He is so charming, kind, and has really come into his own with the help of our staff and volunteers. He greets guests in our front office with big smiles and he is always happy to meet new dog friends. He is adjusting well to things that previously frightened him, mostly cars and car rides, and we feel that he is ready to get to know a family and head home. He is very dog friendly and seems to find comfort in his dog friends at the rescue, Ivory and Uno. Jasper`s adoption fee has been sponsored! His future adopter will not need to pay an adoption fee thanks to a kind donor. Jasper is a long stay dog but there is truly nothing `wrong` with him. We feel very sorry that he`s had to wait so long, especially since he is such a good boy. Please open up your home and heart to this sweet gentleman. Give him a chance. He is happy to exercise but isn`t an overly energetic dog, he settles into spaces well and really enjoys lounging about after some play time. From our daily notes about the dogs:`Took Jasper up to the big yard for training. Worked on `come` `touch` `place` `stay` and `free`. He did really well on all commands today especially `place`. He`s really starting to get it down. He was super focused today.` It seems that Jasper is and to focus on his commands once he gets the sillies out with a round of fetch or play. They are also working on loose leash walking. He loves fetch, affection, and play time with people and dogs. He is greeting strangers with happy tail wags and seems to settle into a room more easily. Age: 4 yearsWeight: 56 poundsOther dogs: Yes!Kids: 12+ for now, has previously done well with kids but he needs time to decompress, establish routine, and continue his work with training. Cats: Interested but not aggressive. A dog savvy cat will do just fine with him. Fill out an online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org to meet this boy
