Story
Pretty girl Ziah is a fantastic find! This young girl already has some useful skills: she knows sit and fetch, comes when called, and has great social skills with other dogs (even the pushy ones). Ziah is a bundle of energy, but a good workout and some mental gymnastics go a long way to keeping her focused. Family Dog 1 will be a perfect launch pad for you and Ziah, where bonding is key and good manners are gold.Ziah is cool with other dogs, polite and even a little playful. She likes to choose her playmates and knows how to tell those that need not apply how to back off without making a thing out of it. She seems to prefer playing with her people, which is great. Ziah is ready to be your new bestie, hiking, playing, snuggling and hanging by the fire at night. What are you waiting for? Your new best friend is dying to meet you. This little girl has all the energy and spunk you would expect from a puppy. And such a personality! Nomad loves to run and play....chase, wrestle, play tug-o-war, and leap like a gazelle. She loves her sister Gypsy, and loves people. She wants to be wherever you are, and is up for whatever you are doing. She is a puppy, which means she will need to learn how to behave in polite society....which she will quickly master. Nomad is an intelligent, playful, beautiful little pup. She is here at the sanctuary just waiting to be discovered and taken home. If you would like to know more, come meet her, and hopefully take her home, call the sanctuary in Willits at (707) 459-4900.

Story
Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

Story
My boyfriend brought Sadie home when she was just a puppy. She's an incredibly sweet dog who loves people and would probably love to have another dog to play with. She's never had any obedience training, so she can be a little difficult to walk because she's very strong and will pull very hard. I would never let her off leash outside. My boyfriend left and couldn't take Sadie with him, and she's too much responsibility for me to care for on my own. I work full time and so she's home alone most of the day. I walk her every night and try and spend several hours with her every evening. She's high energy and love's to play outside, but she's an indoor dog and I would never leave her outside during the day or overnight. She's very strong and excitable and could easily knock over a child or older person. She has a big bark that would scare away any intruder, but she's never attacked or growled or snarled at another person or animal. She's 4.5yo and a purebred.

Story
Young, high energy Jaimie was found stray in Novato. Jaimie is a smart, curious, resourceful party girl looking for some structure in her life. She doesn't know that she's looking for structure, but she is. She loves training exercises and playing with a variety of toys. You will be able to use her interest in treats, training and exhaustive exercise to train her and refocus her attention when she gets a little too amped over seeing new people and dogs. Jaimie has a keen mind, so you'll want to engage that with things like food puzzles and games. And don't forget Family Dog 1 - that will give you both a great bonding experience and a strong foundation for obedience.Jaimie was very interested in all the dogs she met here; sometimes a little too interested. She's super eager to the point of being a little rude depending on the other dog's point of view. If the other dog is like minded a beautiful friendship could ensue. She reads other dogs' social signals, so that's a big plus. Find Jaimie a good playmate and you'll have one more great way to engage her genius.Come meet Jaimie and get ready to party! ***ADOPTION FEE PAID*** Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 53.6 Age: 0yrs 10mths 0wks
