Yes, we see her too! Would you leave her at the shelter? We didn’t think so! This is a little story about a sweet, sweet Boxer girl who helped a terrified little Labrador boy get through his time at the shelter. Both Calliope and Cruise somehow landed at a rural shelter. Because some of the most dedicated animal saviors volunteer at the shelters, one noticed that Cruise was not fairing well. Cruise would turn his back to the world outside his cage in a ball petrified. This is hard to watch for even the most seasoned shelter staff. They felt horrible for him and decided another young dog might help him, enter Calliope. The staff took every chance they could to put them together and they were right, she was what he needed to get through the stray hold period before they both could become LRRF dogs! We just could not leave Calliope behind! They have been fostered together and still absolutely adore each other. Besides, like the foster says “it’s so nice to have a Baby Boxer in the house after so many Labradors!!” They are an adorable little pair that would love to be adopted together but are also available separately. Calliope is a typical boxer pup with her adorable smooshy little face and sweet character. She loves to play chase and be chased around by Cruise and a few other foster siblings! She also frequently finds the older resident dogs to curl up with for naps. Cruise is your very typical lab! He’s much smaller than what we’re used to seeing but this dufus is a fun guy! They’re both shy and will take a minute to warm up, but both have come a long way in a short time. Neither is great on a leash yet, but both are fully house-trained. They have not been around kids or cats but we don’t anticipate either being a problem. If you think one or both of these pups would be the perfect addition to your family please apply at www.labrescuefresno.org    If you are interested in adopting through Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, you must first fill out an Adoption Application located at our website www.LabRescueFresno.org All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines including rabies; flea/tick topical drops, heartworm tested and microchipped. Thank you for opting to adopt!!    Adoption Fee: Puppies, (2 years of age and under) – $400.00 Adult Dog, (3 through 8 years of age) – $350.00 Senior Dogs (9 years and up) – $200.00 Special consideration may be granted for dogs with medical needs or bonded pairs.   January 23, 2025, 1:41 pm

Story
For those of you who don’t remember Syd, she is the pit mix puppy who was attacked by another dog, spent time at @kingsburgvet and surrendered to PC. Syd has had a long recovery time, besides the initial injuries from the attack she had difficulty breathing. Our wonderful vet partner @kingsburgvet did various testing, x-rays, bloodwork, & cultures. While they were able to eliminate some disease concerns, we never were able to pin down the exact issue. Syd has a crazy overbite and still snorts when she breathes so it may be possible that her anatomy also contributed to some of her early breathing issues. The vet along with her foster mom provided Syd with supportive care to help get her thru the worst of her issues. It was touch and go for awhile and not being able to figure out a definitive answer was frustrating for everyone but we are just glad that she is doing better now and growing into such a good girl. Syd has been raised in a home with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and gets along with everyone. She is crate trained, housebroken, very treat motivated and is lower to medium energy level. She has completed her puppy vaccine series, microchipped, flea tick treated, dewormed, received her rabies vaccine and spayed. If you would like to be considered for the adoption of a dog or puppy, please follow the steps below and submit an application through our independent process (Petfinder “matchmaking” emails are not part of our process and we are unable to respond to them). If you have questions you must reach out to us as we do not have the capacity to individually contact all applicants. You may call 559-393-1946 between 6PM and 9PM if you have additional questions AFTER SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. We hold adoption events at Petsmart San Jose every Saturday starting at 11am, and most of our adoptable dogs can be met by appointment at these events. Copy and paste the link below to submit a pre-screen application for the dog of interest, or find the link on our website www.pawsitiveconnections.org. Due to the overwhelming amount of interest our dogs receive, we unfortunately will not be able to reach out to all applicants who apply. If you do not receive correspondence from us, it is likely a reflection of the amount of applications we received. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScGSOxbGTIIintrGXUi8H-ddLv41aA0XUbELmNi0YhUIWQHRA/viewform /Adoption fee will include spayneuter, microchip, rabies vaccine (dependent on age), bordatella vaccine, parvodistemper vaccine (1-4 depending on age of dog), dewormer (2-4), monthly nexgard for flea and tick treatment./November 4, 2024, 3:45 pm
