Hi, my name is Stella. I first came to the shelter on 8/9/2024. I went into a foster home for a short time and then came back. Change is hard for me, isn’t it hard for anyone? What if you didn’t understand why things where changing? How scary would that be? How hard would it be to not know what will happen day by day? That’s the life I’m living right now. I LOVE people but coming to the shelter and then going into a new home make me nervous at first. I shake and lick my paws, similar to nervous people who bite at their nails too short. Believe it or not, the shelter has been the most sense of security I have. I used to shake a lot in the kennel, but I have gotten better because I can predict the routine. Being able to have a predictable routine helps dogs understand more. I always seek out comfort from humans and look to them to help guide me. I enjoy eating treats and playing with toys! I’m gentle and might do okay around kids. I would be a great match for a work-from-home person. If you don’t work from home that’s okay, just give me a couple days to get use to you and the new place. Play the TV when you leave and give me some long-lasting tasty treats to hold me over until I see you. I really don’t want to be alone… and I’m so alone in this kennel by myself.

Winston here! I love food, people, treats, toys... everything!! Everything is so sooo great. I enjoy toys and playtime with my humans, as well as walks around the block. I love food but I don`t enjoy to share, so I`d reocmmend if you feed me just make sure to let me eat my food. :) Anyways, I`m tired of being here. Let`s break me out!!

Rusell here!! I`m nervous here at the shelter and need out soon! It took me a while to come out of my shell but fortunately staff were very patient with me. I take time to adjust to new people, but once I`m comfortable I just LOVE to play!! I enjoy food, treats and some toys. I`ve met some dogs here at my stay but I prefer people instead. Tyson is a very happy go lucky dog.  He was pulled from Tijuana Animal Control February  2022.  He was very emaciated and very sick.  He weighed only 33 pounds at intake with us.  He has gained more than thirty pounds while in our care.  His tail had to be amputated as he had "Happy tail."  He could not stop wagging his tail and would break the tail open and spray blood all over everything by wagging it really hard and bumping itno things.  He is an amazing boy.  He loves adults, kids, other dogs, and just about everything.  He will be a wonderful addition to any family's home! ##1328861##

My journey started as a stray darting in and out of traffic on a busy street and seeking cover in the adjacent riverbed.  I could be seen at night going house to house, looking for food and especially loved the yards with dogs.  Once humanely trapped, no owner came for me so here I am looking for my forever family.  I would do best with another confident dog in the home.  Once I trust I am incredibly sweet and eager to please.  I need someone willing to be patient and love me unconditionally while I adjust to my new environment.  I LOVE dogs and am high energy when it comes to play.  I prefer women and have a deep seated fear of men but can learn to trust.  I get to enjoy outings for pack walks but don't do well "sitting" in chaotic settings.  The noises, people and activity still scare me, even a year later.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  I would love to find that person who will let me learn to trust, grow into their heart and let me be their new home body where I feel safe.  To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1339002##

ACE is his name and he is a pit bull mix with terrier. He has his rabies shot and paperwork for it. He is almost one year of age. (DOB: 22 OCTOBER, 2023) he was neutered about a month ago and is fully recovered. I’m in the military and cannot keep up with Ace anymore. I thought it would work out but I’m just not around enough to love him properly and I’m finally making the hard decision to find him a new home where he will be loved and taken care of. He is good with all humans baby to adult, male and female. He is good with big dogs. He is not a fan of cats or small dogs. He is house trained. He understands the basics of “Fetch.” He knows “sit” and “stay.” He is well tempered and rarely barks. I’ve had him for 4 moths and only heard him bark maybe 5 or 6 times. He’s loving and affectionate. He loves to exercise, but will also lay around the house all day with you.
