Ever heard of a Boxachi (Boxer-Chihuahua Mix) We hadn’t either until we met sweet Belle! She is a 4 year old, 27 pound, tan and white, Boxer-Chihuahua mix. Her daughter Hannah is also available for adoption. This pretty girl is being rehomed because she is not friendly with her families Alpacas and Chickens. No more country life for Belle. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Piper is a 8 year old and 51 pounds. She is sweet girl who can be easily befriended with soft pets and yummy treats. When she`s comfortable, she turns into a bouncy playful dog who enjoys stuffy toys! I don’t have a history with dogs. I may do well with a slow introduction to new dogs.I don’t have a history with cats. I may do well with them with a slow introduction.I don’t have a history with children but I may do well with them.If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. Story
Oscar loves to get out of his kennel and explore the shelter yards. He is initially a strong puller on leash but settles down with some exercise. He can get over stimulated off leash and get jumpy/mouthy with his human friends. Until he is able to decompress from shelter life, it may be better to place him in a home without small children. Oscar has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Story
Meet Caliope! AKA Cali girl. Cali is a 7 year old pittie/boxer sweetheart in need of a new home. Cali is calm, loves to sun bathe and cuddle, great on leash, and completely house trained. She also MUST be the only pet in her new home, as she loves smaller critters a bit too much. Cali has shown no aggression towards children in the past, however given her history with smaller animals, it would not be recommended to leave her unattended with small children. In her new home, Cali would love to be with an experienced dog owner who will take her on walks a few times a week, but mostly just gives her lots of love, belly rubs, and the occasional game of fetch.
