Kona is a sweet and snuggly Boxer mix who has come to the shelter searching for her perfect furever home! Kona's previous family said she loves to play fetch, give kisses, and get belly rubs. This little sweetie is friendly with other dogs on walks or during playtime, but she would prefer to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the love and treats without sharing. She is fully housebroken, crate-trained, and has positive experience with children ages 7 and up.

PACC says Buddy was found near airport, but we have no idea where he came from. Jan 23, 2023 pick up date. Buddy has been through a lot in the past few months, but I’m happy to report that he`s doing well now. It’s difficult to determine exactly what breed mix Buddy might be, but Boxer - Pitbull or Boxer - Staffordshire Terrier are both possibilities. The healing nose wound; scars on his neck and ears could indicate a rough past, but it`s also possible that they were from an accident.Since he was so sick and lethargic when we received him, I’m not 100% sure on his attitude – he’s changed a lot since he’s been here. PACC vet did find an old glob of material and hair when they resected his colon. It seems he may have eaten some glass while out on the street. With no previous history, it’s tough to say what he experienced. His surgery was around Feb 10. I think he just finished healing up around April 1.Buddy was house trained when we received him and very well-behaved around guests including a free range toddler, teens, and men and women of various ages. I feel guilty leaving him when I have to go into work, but dogs are resilient and can adapt to being alone for periods of time as long as they have food, water, and a safe space to rest. His teeth were full of gunk so I’ve made a habit of brushing his teeth daily so the odor and cleanliness have improved. He allows me to mess with his teeth, and mouth. I’m happy to report that his fur has substantially improved since we first got him, which I think is a sign of good health. Any diet change has resulted in diarrhea and he vomited a few times when we first got him (likely due to food changes and obstruction in colon.) I slowly got him on a chicken kibble from Costco. WARNING: His farts are silent but violent. He usually eats at 7am and 5pm. He often goes to bed on his own at 8pm and naps alot throughout the day. With snacks at 10 am and 3pm. After his colon surgery I even fed him a little meal at noon. As for his behavior around other dogs, it`s not uncommon for dogs to become more reactive on a leash, especially when they`re around other dogs. I think we need to continue to train him to walk on a loose leash and to stay calm around other dogs. He doesn’t have terrible leash manners and socialization skills, but he’s changed a lot since his colon resection. So I’m not sure WHO the real Buddy Mc. But But is. Layla is the sweetest girl with some special needs. She has diabetes and requires an insulin injection twice a day. She is also blind, but she doesn`t let that stop her. Once she is used to her surroundings she navigates pretty well. She does well crating at night or when we have to leave her at home. She eats really well and drinks a lot. She will let you know when she has go out by standing by the door or crying if she`s in her kennel. She loves belly rubs and gets along with big and small dogs, cats, and kids. She is pretty chill and loves to sleep on her bed or lay in the sun on a cool morning. Her tail is always wagging.

Miami is a spry senior who says age ain’t nothin’ but a number- this girl has plenty of pep in her step!! Miami arrived at the shelter as a stray, but is so friendly it’s clear that she was loved by someone at some point in her life. Here’s what some of her volunteer pals have said about her:“When you meet this sweet, happy, bouncy, cheerful, affectionate gal you’ll think she’s a puppy instead of a senior! Her upbeat attitude is so enjoyable and contagious - you’re definitely going to want to take this cutie home. Miami really, really, really enjoys people and is very receptive and friendly. She gets excited for everything – walks, treats, toys, attention – you name it. She’s a wiggly gal but is also well-behaved and easygoing. She enjoys just about every type of treat you care to offer and she takes them very patiently and gently and will sit for them. She also loves to be petted and is easy to leash up and a great walker with little to no pulling.”“I spent time in the kennel with Miami today and she was immediately friendly and eager to greet me- her tail started wagging and she was happy and lively. She easily accepted pets and solicited my attention. She greatly enjoyed every type of treat I offered her, and she took them very gently and knew how to sit for them. She’ll make a loving and devoted companion for the right person.”Miami unfortuantely was diagnoised with rectal cancer and may need follow up by any adopter for further care. Tulin is a sweet puppy who was rescued after being abandoned in an apartment with multiple other dogs. While the start of her story is a sad one, her future is incredibly bright- she’s young, resilient, and more than ready to find a loving family who would never leave her behind! Tulin has really come out of her shell during her time at PACC- she’s learned all about normal doggy things like walking on leash and getting cuddles from her human friends (which she especially loves). Nowadays, she’s a typical bouncy, wiggly, happy little pup. Tulin spent a short time in a foster home- here`s what her foster said:`Tulin is a very sweet girl. She is mostly potty trained though does need one potty break in the middle of the night, at least during adjustment time. Her leash skills are already improving and she is starting to play at the park. Her tail has gone from tucked to wagging.”Tulin’s foster said that she is friendly with people, listens well, and bonds with her chosen person easily. She did well with kids when the kiddos were calm and respected her space. Tulin needs a family who will continue to help her build confidence and who will show her the love and kindness she wasn’t given earlier in her life. In return, she has a huge heart and a ton of puppy kisses to share with you! Tulin shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been a bit nervous but social and tolerant overall when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She may do best in a home without small dogs or cats.
