Story
Bodhi is ready for adoption. He’s a 2-1/2 year old, 50 lb. Boston/Pit Bull mix who is housebroken, neutered and UTD on vaccines. Bodhi was aggressive towards other dogs. He even attacked a dog. Bodhi went through an intensive four-week board and train program with a professional trainer. He has not had an aggressive episode since completing training. He receives periodic sustainment training, and has even made some dog friends at the training facility. Bodhi and his foster dad enjoy walks through downtown Fredericksburg where they encounter hundreds of people, dogs, motorcycles, and other loud things. Bodie loves going to Home Depot and his behavior has been perfect. Everyone who meets Bodhi loves him because he’s so handsome and sweet. He is a favorite among his trainers. Bodhi will thrive in a home where he is an only pet and has room to play. Bodhi enjoys being close to his humans and loves being petted. He knows the heel command, walks at his foster’s side, and rarely notices other dogs now. Since he’s a young dog with lots of energy, Bodhi would benefit from having a fenced yard. Bodhi is fostered in Stafford, VA. Story
per is ready to find her home. She’s a healthy 7 y/o, 17-pound girl who is spayed, housebroken and UTD on vaccines. Piper happens to be deaf and takes Prozac daily, but that doesn’t stop her from being a sweet and playful little girl. When she arrived, she was very fearful and reactive, and it took a while for her to warm up, but once she’s comfortable she will follow you around and jump up gently for pets. She can be a velcro dog and loves to snuggle up on the couch. Since Piper can be territorial around other dogs, she would be best as the only dog in an adult household. Piper feels safe in her crate and uses it as “her space” when she’s had enough family time and prefers her open crate as her nightly place to sleep. She is good with older children and since she cannot hear, a fenced yard is required, Requirements: Must have fence Child free or older children only Adopter must be a strong leader to guide Piper Should be the only dog or have adopters willing to take the time to slowly and properly introduce her to people and other pets Piper is fostered in Norfolk, VA. If you feel you are the right family for Piper and meet these requirements, please email odbtr1@gmail.com or bostonlover02@comcast.net to request a Word or PDF format application.

Story
Meet Apple !! This little cutie is looking for a great new home. She is fun and sweet. Apple is an almost 1 year old female. She is a Boston Terrier mix. She currently weights 19 pounds and is full grown. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative. We aren’t sure the cause of it but Apple has a head tilting abnormality. Our vet isn’t sure exactly why but it could be a neuro issue. She can hold her head straight but more often than not she tilts it to the side. It causes her no issues and she behaves completely normally aside from tilting the head. We wish we had more answers but we don’t. She’s been happy and healthy since arriving, she’s just a little special. We are currently trying a antibiotics and steriods to see if they may help. Apple is a great little dog. She is fun, playful and feisty but does not have an overwhelming energy level. She likes a lot of lap and couch cuddles. She will run and play with the other dogs and then be ready for a nap or to lounge around and chew on a bone. She has been very easy to have in the home so far. She is crate trained and will sleep in her kennel all night but she prefers to sleep in bed with you. She has not had any problems staying home during a normal work day. She is good with leash training and also does really well on car rides. She is mostly potty trained. She does not alert you when she needs to go out so it takes a bit to figure out her routine in new places. Apple has done great with dogs of all sizes. She loves to run and play with them. She can be a little feisty with ones that get in her face. She has no problem telling another dog when she is done playing or needs some space. She has not been aggressive she just sets clear boundaries with other dogs. We have not had her around cats so we are unsure how she would do. She is not fostered with kids but we think she would do well with respectful children that do not treat her like a toy. She has had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with humans. She does not do well sharing her food with other dogs. She should be fed in her crate or a separate room if you have other pets. Her foster says she is an easy, cuddly, fun little girl to have around the house. If you are looking for a sweet, fun, smaller dog that is almost fully trained already then this little lady may be the one for you! ➡️Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.‼️
