Story
Jake was adopted about three or four years ago from a man who was failing in health. Jake has a wonderful temperament. He's well-behaved and respectfully gentle with everyone, including other dogs. He needs to have a fenced-in yard OR be walked twice a day. He is very well house-trained under either of those conditions. He has the great characteristics of a Boston Terrier with the exuberance of a Boxer. Present owner has downsized living conditions and needs to find a new home for Jake.

Story
Dante, our goofy and quirky 1-year-old Boston Terrier/Pit Bull mix, is waiting for his forever home. This boy weighs around 45ish lbs and is full of playful energy. But life hasn't been easy for Dante so far - he was surrendered by his previous owners along with his brothers. The pups had very little socialization and were dirty, underweight and scared of everything! Despite his rough start, Dante is an affectionate and curious pup who just needs a little extra patience and love to come out of his shell. He may be shy with new situations and people, but once he warms up, he'll shower you with all the love and attention you could want. Dante will need slow and easy introductions with all things new, people and dogs. He may be best suited for a home with older children who can understand and respect his shy nature. With a patient and understanding family, The key to Dante and his brother will be PATIENCE, TIME, UNDERSTANDING, OPEN MINDEDNESS ( these pups had a traumatic life prior to the shelter!), ROUTINES and LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE! Dante is neutered, we have microchipped and updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested (NEGATIVE) and given heartworm prevention.

Story
per is ready to find her home. She’s a healthy 7 y/o, 17-pound girl who is spayed, housebroken and UTD on vaccines. Piper happens to be deaf and takes Prozac daily, but that doesn’t stop her from being a sweet and playful little girl. When she arrived, she was very fearful and reactive, and it took a while for her to warm up, but once she’s comfortable she will follow you around and jump up gently for pets. She can be a velcro dog and loves to snuggle up on the couch. Since Piper can be territorial around other dogs, she would be best as the only dog in an adult household. Piper feels safe in her crate and uses it as “her space” when she’s had enough family time and prefers her open crate as her nightly place to sleep. She is good with older children and since she cannot hear, a fenced yard is required, Requirements: Must have fence Child free or older children only Adopter must be a strong leader to guide Piper Should be the only dog or have adopters willing to take the time to slowly and properly introduce her to people and other pets Piper is fostered in Norfolk, VA. If you feel you are the right family for Piper and meet these requirements, please email odbtr1@gmail.com or bostonlover02@comcast.net to request a Word or PDF format application.

Story
Greetings potential adopters! Allow me to introduce you to Chuck - a handsome Boston Terrier/Pit Bull mix. At just 1 year old and around 47lbs, Chuck has already experienced a rough start in life, but he's ready to leave that behind and start a new journey with a loving family. Chuck was surrendered by his previous owners along with his brothers. The pups had very little socialization and were dirty, underweight and scared of everything! Chuck's energetic and curious nature will surely keep you on your toes, but his goofy and affectionate side will melt away any stress you may have. He will need slow and easy introductions with all things new, people and dogs. and may do well with older children who can understand his need for space and respect his boundaries. The key to Chuck and his brother will be PATIENCE, TIME, UNDERSTANDING, OPEN MINDEDNESS ( these pups had a traumatic life prior to the shelter!), ROUTINES and LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE! Chuck is neutered, we have microchipped and updated all vaccines including rabies.
