Story
Hi my name is Murphy.  My foster mom Rachel added the marvelous because that is exactly what I am.  I am 2 years old and I weigh 37 lbs. Rachel first met me as a little puppy adopted by one of her friends.  My mom soon decided that she did not want me.  This began a period of bouncing around for me and unfortunately I ended up in the local shelter.  Rachel happened to be on their Facebook page and was so upset to see a familiar face.  She immediately called Critter Cavalry and I am now safe and sound with her under their care.  I am so relieved to have a familiar face to look to for guidance.  I truly am a marvelous boy.  Despite all the bouncing around I am an even keal kinda guy.  I love people and am great with the two bigger and older resident dogs.  I also love my 3 year old human foster brother.  I let him pet and hug on me and patiently accept his affection.  I am not a licky dog.  I stand or sit there and enjoy the attention.  I soak up all the human attention I can get.  I am housebroken, ride well in the car and walk well on a leash.  I am learning some commands.  My foster dad is currently working on sit.  As soon as I get that I will learn more.  I am very food motivated and love all the treats that come with training.  I am not learning too fast on purpose!!!  But I promise to give in soon.  I enjoy the one on one attention when he is teaching me things.  According to Rachel and my original mom I am a Boston Terrier/Beagle mix.  Don't see it well neither does Miss Vivienne so who knows?!  What is most important is that I am sweet, smart and will be an EXCELLENT family dog.  I am working on my crate training.  That is going a bit slowly as I am not a fan and am a bit scared in the crate.  I definitely do not like being in there when I am alone but know I need to learn.  What is important is that I am willing to learn and am a sweet boy.  If you are looking for a great family dog then you have found him.  I have been neutered, am current on all my shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and on preventative.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Murphy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)       To be considered for Murphy's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Murphy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)October 4, 2024, 10:14 pm

Bodhi is ready for adoption. He’s a 2-1/2 year old, 50 lb. Boston/Pit Bull mix who is housebroken, neutered and UTD on vaccines. Bodhi was aggressive towards other dogs. He even attacked a dog. Bodhi went through an intensive four-week board and train program with a professional trainer. He has not had an aggressive episode since completing training. He receives periodic sustainment training, and has even made some dog friends at the training facility. Bodhi and his foster dad enjoy walks through downtown Fredericksburg where they encounter hundreds of people, dogs, motorcycles, and other loud things. Bodie loves going to Home Depot and his behavior has been perfect. Everyone who meets Bodhi loves him because he’s so handsome and sweet. He is a favorite among his trainers. Bodhi will thrive in a home where he is an only pet and has room to play. Bodhi enjoys being close to his humans and loves being petted. He knows the heel command, walks at his foster’s side, and rarely notices other dogs now. Since he’s a young dog with lots of energy, Bodhi would benefit from having a fenced yard. Story
Piper is ready to find her home. She’s a healthy 7 y/o, 17-pound girl who is spayed, housebroken and UTD on vaccines. Piper happens to be deaf and takes Prozac daily, but that doesn’t stop her from being a sweet and playful little girl. When she arrived, she was very fearful and it took a while for her to warm up, but once she’s comfortable she will follow you around and jump up gently for pets. She can be a velcro dog and loves to snuggle up on the couch. Since Piper is an alpha and territorial around other dogs, she would be best as the only dog in an adult household. She is good around cats; curious and brought one a toy to try and play. Piper feels safe in her crate and uses it as “her space” when she’s had enough family time and prefers her open crate as her nightly place to sleep. She is good with older children and since she cannot hear, a fenced yard is required, Requirements: Must have fence Child free or older children only Adopter must be a strong leader to guide Piper since she is an alpha dog Should be the only dog or have adopters willing to take the time to slowly and properly introduce her to people and other pets Cats ok Piper is fostered in Norfolk, VA.
