Story
Cookie Bear is a quirky little dog with lots of love and energy to spare. Cookie is the perfect blend of mixed breed. She is dark brindle, almost black with a pigmented tongue. She has long legs and a long whip like tail, which always lets you know when she’s happy, but can hurt if she accidentally hits you with it during a shake. She is a lanky 27 pounds and has the bark of a big dog. She’s very chatty and will howl along if you sing to her, plus she does excited barking when going outside, playing, or getting a treat.  She loves playing with (destroying) soft toys and playing fetch. She has a few chew bones and squeaky bones that she enjoys as well. Cookie is smart and loves to learn new things. She has mastered get back, sit, lay down, stay, come, speak, and quiet. She will work hard for a treat but really loves praise. When getting pets, she stomps her back legs in joy, lifting them so high and stomping so hard. (Much like Nala stomps for those who are familiar.) She is a total cuddle bug and loves to roll around on the blankets.  Cookie gets along great with cats in her foster home, but is dog reactive. She may be able to get along well with a well adjusted dog sibling after a slow introduction period, but would prefer to be the only dog. She would be fine with older children who are dog smart. She can be protective of her foster mom (her person) and has some resource guarding tendencies as well.   The Basics Age: 7-8 Weight: 27 pounds Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes, good for a few hours at a time  Leash Skills: Great. She just needs to be  monitored for possible reoccurrence.  Likes/Dislikes Toys: Loves!  Will tear up soft toys, loves chew bones and playing fetch. Understands “go get your bone!” Other Animals: Likes cats, dog reactive (see above)  People/Kids: Loves people, barks at first but happy once she gets acknowledged  Car Rides: Likes the adventure, but does get anxious.  Separation: Okay in the crate for a few hours at a time. Hello, my name is Quinn Meredith Patrick. I am a five year old, full blooded Female Boston Terrier. I am super sweet and a little timid. I take some time to warm up to you, but when I do, you have my heart and I like to be close to my person(s). When I’m comfortable with you, I love belly rubs and lots of snuggles, I even have a slight issue with personal space, I get a little scared/nervous with loud noises (I.e.thunder) and fast movements, so small children might be scary for me.  Age: 5 yrs DOB 4/4/2019Weight: 21.5 poundsSpayed/Neutered: YesMicrochipped: YesVaccines Up-to-Date: YesOn Heartworm Prevention: YesHouse-Trained: yesCrate-Trained: yes, Leash Skills: much betterLikes/DislikesToys: unsure… haven’t really figured them out yet, but is slowly learning how to playOther Animals: gets along with other dogs; cats, unsurePeople/Kids: adults, does ok; kids, unsureCar Rides: does pretty well in the car, a little scary, but handles it wellSeparation: noneContact/Application InfoQuestions? btretky@gmail.comCurrent location: Frankfort, KYAdoption Fee: $425 includes microchip registrationReady to Apply to Adopt? Story
Hi I’m Pepper Tux, a National Kennel Club registered Boston Terrier. I’m nine years old, but don’t be fooled by my age. I’m full of Boston Terrier energy and will play Fetch all day with you. ♥ I would love to have a fenced yard where I can play fetch to my heart’s content. I act more like a young adult than a mature Boston.   I was surrendered to the rescue because after I lost the vision in my right eye, I began to get  startled if approached from that side and one of the family members didn't trust me because they had a bad experience with a dog years ago (not me!).. Now that I am in a far more quiet Foster home I’ve been very energetic and  I've been a good boy.   Because I am VERY ball focused and only have one eye I would do best in a home without small children.    I love to give kisses and like many of my Boston cousins I have that famous snore.    Can I follow you around the house?   I will be right there if you’re having a snack.  I can be your Best snack buddy and sit with you thumping for snacks.     I just love a good snooze in the sunshine.     My foster mom says I invented a new game called roll your toy under the couch.  I rollz it under the couch and then runz in back of the couch to get my toy.   I lies on my back to chew on my toy for a bit, and then start all over with rolling it under the couch.   I make my fosters laugh   The BasicsAge: 9Weight: 25Spayed/Neutered: YesMicrochipped: YesVaccines Up-to-Date: YesOn Heartworm Prevention: YesHouse-Trained: YesCrate-Trained: Yes. The pressure inthe right eye is fine but has daily eye drops to help prevent glaucoma. Pepper is a very good boy about putting the drops in his eye. Likes/DislikesToys: Looooooves to play fetch with bouncy balls and throw sticks. Will play fetch all day long.Other Animals: Fine with other dogs as long as they aren’t possessive about toys. With onlyone eye he often bumps into other dogs. Cats unknown.People/Kids: Good with new people as long as they introduce themselves.. Story
Let me introduce to you – Fred, Freddie, Fredster. Freddie is a 4-year-old, house trained, neutered boston terrier. He is crate trained but he does not care to be in there and will cry a littlewhen you first put him in. Although, I no longer put him the kennel when I leave since he is sucha good boy while we are gone. Freddie is a lover boy who just wants to be as close to you aspossible. If you are sitting on the couch, he is in your lap or draped over you. If you are in bed,he is up at your shoulders, curled up as close to you as he can get. Freddie’s favorite toy is hisrope with a ball at each end. He will run after it as long as you want to throw it for him. Squeakytoys don’t stand a chance with him. While he does love them, he tears them apart in 10.3seconds! Ropes are the best toys for him and last him quite some time. Freddie does like torough house with you, pounce on you, and jump up and would not be good in a home with littlekids. He does like to try and attack the vacuum and the hair dryer when they are on. I do have asmall boston/chi mix that he gets along with but I did a very slow intro with them. Freddie doesseem to be reactive to other dogs that we have been around. They have been big dogs at thevet, or when my daughter brings her big dog over. So, I am not sure if he is reactive to the size,or just that they are dogs he doesn’t know. I have no cats so I am not sure how he would bewith them. Freddie does have lots of energy so would do best in a home with someone that willplay with him, take him for walks, and hikes, just being mindful of other dogs around him. The BasicsAge: 4 – DOB 4/29/20Weight: 29lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesMicrochipped: YesVaccines Up-to-Date: YesOn Heartworm Prevention: YesOn Flea/Tick Prevention: Use the Seresto collarHouse-Trained: YesCrate-Trained: Yes, but doesn’t need to be put in one.Leash Skills: Does good on a leash. Likes/Dislikes: Does not like to be picked up, or hugged.Toys: Loves rope toys and squeaky toys, but destroys squeaky toys pretty fast.Other Animals: Does seem reactive to other dogs. May be best as an only dog or one that issmaller than him with a very slow introduction.People/Kids: Would not recommend for a home with small kids.Car Rides: Takes him a while to feel comfortable enough to lay down. Otherwise, he just standsup and looks out the window.Separation: Seems to do fine when we leave him out of the kennel and leave the house for afew hours. Contact/Application InfoQuestions?
