Story
Calvin Rufus is a full-blooded male, super spunky and peppy, Boston Terrier. You wouldn’t thinkCalvin is 8 years old with the energy he has. A mom or dad who likes to play fetch or go for longwalks/jogs would be a great fit, but he does have his chill time and will definitely cuddle in yourlap or snuggle in bed (if you allow that). He LOVES blueberries, bananas, blackberries, butturns his nose up at raw carrots. He loves to play with his toys and leaves them stashedeverywhere, so he can play anytime, anywhere! He reminds me of Tigger the Tiger because heis so bouncy. He is a bit of an escape artist when it comes to dog gates, if you like to haverooms blocked off. He is used to a doggie door to come and go as he pleases. He would dobest in an only dog home with a fenced yard. He does well uncrated when I am at work. Story
Bindy Blue is 9 years old and all about the simple joys in life: sunbathing, car rides, snacks, and snuggles. She’s a laid-back girl who enjoys hanging out with her people (especially the ladies), keeping tabs on household happenings, and chiming in with her own unique vocalizations - she definitely has something to say, especially when she wants to go outside! Bindy has limited vision due to cataracts, but she navigates her world confidently and does best with a predictable, calm environment. She does well with both on- and off-leash dog introductions, but prefers polite canine manners - she doesn’t like dogs in her face or being startled. She could happily live with another easygoing dog who respects her space, or in a home with no other dogs, as long as her people are home often and enjoy spending time with her. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and happiest when she gets to sleep in bed with her favorite human. Bindy gets along well with dog-savvy cats and respectful kids. She’s food-motivated, enjoys short bursts of play, and will seek your lap when it’s time to relax. If you’re looking for a gentle, quirky sidekick to share quiet days and cozy nights, Bindy Blue might just be your girl. Bindy’s Must-Haves A calm, loving home with a predictable routine An adopter who is home often and enjoys close companionship Gentle handling and awareness of her limited vision, especially around stairs, decks, ledges, and curbs Polite dog interactions - she does well with on- and off-leash introductions but doesn’t like dogs in her face Willingness and ability to lift her in and out of the car A patient, kind adopter who appreciates a sweet senior Bindy’s Nice-to-Haves Another easygoing, respectful dog or a home with no other dogs A securely fenced yard or safe outdoor space for sniffing and sunbathing Dog-savvy cats Respectful, gentle kids Someone who enjoys a chatty dog with personality Contact/Application Info  Questions? Story
Oliver (Ollie) is an 8 year old male Boston Terrier who spent his first years as a breeding dog. He is, however, very well socialized and absolutely LOVES to be with people, including children, and gets along with other dogs, large and small. Ollie is very active, plays fetch with his ball and is learning about all kinds of fun toys. He is a quiet boy and will stay behind a baby gate for the day while his foster mom is at work with no accidents or destructive behavior. Although, he still is learning not to "mark" in the house, he wears his belly band while he goes about his life inside the home. Ollie would fit nicely in almost any home that will give him the love, attention and patience that he needs to learn a life in a family instead of a kennel.  The Basics Age: 8 years Weight: 20 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: working on it Crate-Trained: Yes Leash Skills: Good, loves to go on walks Medical: none known   Likes/Dislikes Toys: Loves his ball and bear stuffy: OK with dogs, not sure about cats People/Kids: Yes, very friendly with everyone. Story
Hello This sweet and precious looking girl is Ellie Mae.   Sometimes the one who has been waiting the longest loves the deepest. And this puppy dog has an infinite capacity to love. She is looking for someone to do life with. Ellie came to TN with 10 other.  Her foster parents picked her up on March 18, she was chipper & came along willingly, trusting her foster parents every step of the way. Ellie is currently in a home with 6 y.o. and 3 y.o male Bostons, and a 6 y.o. female mini wire-haired dachshund. She gets along with everyone. Ellie would do best with someone who is home most of the day due to continuing potting training. A fenced yard would be nice, and she walks very well on leash. Ellie is learning to potty while on walks also, but there's so much to smell and see who wants to worry about potty time. The Basics: Age: 9 years old (born in January 2017) Weight: 19 lbsSpayed: Yes Microchipped: Yes On Heartworm and flea & tick prevention: Yes Vaccines UTD: Yes Home Skills: Crate trained: willingly accepts for a few hours House trained: It’s a work in progress. she’s about 75% there. “YES!” word and lots of praise are going a long way. Leash skills: Ellie stands patiently at the door to be leashed and likes to go for walks. She stops to take in all the sights of nature.   Bath: accepts a  bathtub Bed sleeping: She LOVES it, and if you say, “wait” or “stay” in the morning, she patiently waits for YOU to go to the bathroomfirst before she jumps down. Working on: Ellie attended her second obedience class. She has mastered sit, and is working on attention, heeling on left side with a sit upon stopping, stay, recall, and leave it. Likes/Dislikes: Toys: When she first came, she seemed to be a determined tag remover. She was especially fond of some Halloween bats her foster mom had. Other Dogs: No problem getting along with our pack, the dogs in her obedience class, or in the neighborhood. Cats: The jury is still out on that one. Ellie is rather obsessed with an outdoor Cat in the Foster home. Ellie Needs to know where she is at all times. It’s like “Where’s Waldo” for her. Foster mom says cats seem to distract her too much.  People/Kids: She loves to meet new people and is happy to be petted by anyone.  Car Rides: She likes them. Ellie is smart and learned that when her halter goes on in the house, she goes right to the car and puts her feet up to be lifted into her car seat. Separation: None                                                                         Aliases: Mae Mae and Maisy As you know, dog love is unlike any other kind, and Ellie’s love is like no other dog’s. Contact/Questions? contact Ellie foster mom Margo at mwilkens@memphis.edu., or text or call at 901-438-1888. Story
Hello, my name is Barbie Anne, or as my foster mom affectionately calls me, Barbie Girl. My favorite thing in the world is belly rubs. I’ll happily lie there for hours if you give me a good belly rub. My foster brother, Rudy, is my best friend. He’s my size, and we’re inseparable. However, my other fur siblings are much larger than me. My foster dad calls me “baby girl,” and that makes my heart swell with joy. I’m protective of my territory and my foster family. I may bark and growl, but don’t let that fool you; I’m a gentle soul. I require slow introductions to people, as I have a lot of energy and love to run and play. My mom gives me medication to help manage my anxiety, and I’m doing very well on it. However, I would do better in a home with fewer people coming and going. I get very nervous and react by barking, urinating, and growling. It takes me a minute to warm up to humans. My life took a sudden turn when my owner passed away, and they didn’t find us for a few days. We were then placed in the Memphis Animal Shelter, where we stayed for two weeks before being rescued by a rescue organization. When I get overstimulated, I need to be in my crate in a quiet, dark room. I’m a fluffy toy destroyer, so I love chewing on my super chewer toys.  Please give me a place to call my forever home.  Biography BiographyName: Barbie AnneAge: 2 1/2 years oldWeight: 22Spayed / Neuterd: yesMicrochipped: yesVaccine up to date: yesOn Heartworm prevention: yesOn flea and tick prevention: yesHouse trained: I do have little accidents. Crate trained: yes, however I like to pee when I’m excited. She dislikes chaos and people approaching her fast. Toys: she loves toys of all sorts. She is a stuffy destroyer. Other animals: does ok with dogs her same size. She is standoffish with big dogs. People / kids: scared of new people. You have to approach her slowly. Car rides: loves to ride in the car. Separation: does well in a crate. May cry at first but settles quickly. Contact Application: Questions: foster mom - Teresa Andrews931-539-6244andrews.t1973@gmail.comCurrent Location: Erin, TNAdoption fee: $265Ready to apply to adopt: Visit www.bostonterriertn.org           ##2202321##

Story
What Makes Me So Special Millie Jo is a ball full of energy and could use a fenced in yard or lots of walks. She is quite well trained for her crate and runs in it after going out. She enjoys balls but men not so much. In fact, we don't recommend men to be around Millie. She obviously was mistreated by a man. She would be most comfortable with a Mama only, someone who lives a quiet life with not much company. Millie could be your company!   The Basics Age: approximately 2.5 yr Weight: 19 lb. Story
MR. HANDSOME SAM — BOSTON TERRIER — 3 YEARS OLD… AKA: Big Head. Big Personality. Big Feelings. This gorgeous boys Tinder profile: Name: Sam (Mr. Handsome to my close friends… which is everyone) Breed: Boston Terrier with an impressive nogginAge: 3 years Weight: ~26 lbs of muscle and charisma Status: Newly neutered and entering my “self-improvement era” About Me: Hi ladies… and humans with snacks. I was surrendered because I taught my dog siblings how to escape the invisible fence. Leadership skills? Excellent. Decision making? Still evolving. Truth is, I spent most of my life outside as an unneutered young guy with energy to burn and not much guidance. I was kind of the “gift dog” nobody really stepped up for. But that’s behind me now. The rescue fixed the hormone situation (RIP to my former ladies’ man career), and I’m ready to focus on becoming someone’s best friend. Strengths: • Extremely sweet with people • Confident, social, and affectionate • Hilarious personality — certified goofball • Athletic, energetic, and FUN • Smile that lights up a room • Lived with multiple dogs before • Handsome head you will absolutely kiss daily Things I’m Working On (personal growth is important): • Manners — I missed some early lessons • Training — I’m smart and eager • Boundaries — enthusiasm sometimes exceeds judgment Ideal Match: • Secure fenced yard (no invisible fences… apparently I’m persuasive) • Someone with dog experience who appreciates a strong personality • Older kids or dog-savvy home • A human willing to invest time — because I am SO worth it Physical Description: Large, handsome Boston head Muscle bod any scrawny teenager would envy Expressive eyes Healing skin and growing confidence Award-winning smile I look amazing in my hamburger surgical collar. Personality Summary: Sam the Ham. A man about town. A little ridiculous. A lot lovable. What Rescue Says: “He spent 3 years as an afterthought. Now he deserves to be someone’s everything.” Foster or adopter needed. Knoxville, TN Please share to help Mr. Handsome Sam find his forever people. Head to our website for all things adoption and the application link… RecycledBestFriends.org We require breed experienced adopter.
