Story
"Hey there, I'm Chevy. I'm a 4.5 year old male Boston Terrier. I've had a rough start, to put it kindly. I am looking for a person who will take things nice and slow for me, and take time to build a bond. My foster dad spends a lot of time with me, loving on me and teaching me that people can be kind. I love CHEESE! It's my favorite thing. I'll do pretty much anything for it. I am slowly coming out of my shell, but I'm not quite there yet. I am afraid of a lot of things. I had never been in a house prior to coming to my foster home, so it is all new to me. I will cower away from new people, and I take time to learn to trust, but once I do, I will be your little shadow. I love to chew on toys! I am learning the difference between what is and what isn't a toy - before my foster home, the only thing I had to play with was my food dish. I still like to chew on my dish, so my foster family picks it up when I'm done eating. When I came to my foster home I had very broken and damaged teeth from chewing on the bars of the cage I used to live in. Zoe's House Rescue made sure I got dental work done to remove my broken teeth. I also had my stenotic nares corrected at the same time. I can breathe much better now! I am neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and have been treated with monthly parasite preventatives. I am also crate trained. I have been learning about potty training, but I forget sometimes. A belly band will be useful during my transition to my new home. I do go potty every time I am taken outside, and I never go poop in the house. Frequent potty breaks help me remember where I am supposed to pee. Even though I am a shy guy, I am hopeful that someone will give me a chance to show what a gentleman I can be. It will take some patience and a lotta love, but we will get there!" Chevy is a scared dog who will need an experienced 'dog person' who can help him learn to be his best self. He is a very gentle dog who will pancake to the ground when someone new tries to touch him. He does not become aggressive, but will try to get away from scary situations. For this reason, we are requiring a securely fenced yard for him. Chevy is being fostered in Southern Lancaster County and interested adopters must come to his foster home twice. The first visit is a meet and greet with all the members of the household including existing dogs in the home. The second visit is to take him home. Story
This little girl is just the best! Aside from her charming good looks and adorable underbite, Christie has a great puppy personality too. She’s fun, she’s affectionate and she’s resilient.  Christie can be a tad shy when somewhere new, but it doesn’t take long to see her happy little self start to shine through. When she gets nervous, she stands and put her paws around her person, almost as though she’s hugging you, until she’s decided she’s safe to go back to her carefree puppy antics. She is a total snuggle bug!  It is very obvious that Christie will love her furever family with every inch of her heart. Christie is working hard on potty training and is almost crate trained. She is still getting used to leashed walks but doing pretty well. Christie is being fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and will be able to head to her furever home on or after 11/2/2024.  www.mostlymuttz.org #mostlymuttzrescue #cutestunderbite #adorable #adoptabledogs #pawfection You can apply to adopt CHRISTIE at https://www.mostlymuttz.org/adoption-application/. Story
Liza took the internet by storm for her shaking video as she was terrified in a shelter. Today she no longer shakes, but wiggles through life. She started out her foster life making friends with the foster’s cat and energetically became part of the dog fam. Liza sleeps through the night blissfully in her crate and enjoys going outside and getting her zoomies out. She is housebroken and during the day, she will ring her bells if she needs to go outside. While inside after a long day, she loves to curl up by her humans and chill. Liza is looking for a family that will give her lots attention and plenty of toys and chew treats.

Story
Meet Otis, the most adorable French bulldog and Miniature Pinscher mixed pup! Otis is 1 year and 8 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a forever home. His special superpower is his ability to always have his lips stuck on his teefs. Otis was surrendered to us because his humans did not have time for him. We were told that he consistently had accidents in the house and that he was alone most of the day. We could tell that he lacked obedience and did not know boundaries upon intake. His humans did love him, but they did not provide him with a routine or any mental and physical stimulation. He is now doing well with a consistent routine and learning to be a well-behaved pup. His foster mom reports that Otis has not had any accidents in the house since he came. He is a medium sized dog, but he thinks that he is a tiny pup and insists on always getting in your lap. Otis is the epitome of a Velcro dog! He is very affectionate and would love to be with you all the time. Personal boundaries do not exist in his vocab. His favorite thing in the whole world must be chest and belly rubs because he can never get enough of it. Otis will sometimes throw tantrums when he is denied attention but can easily be distracted when you throw a toy for him to chase after. Speaking of toys, Otis LOVES chewing on all the toys. Durable chew toys are a must for this boy. He can be very energetic when playing tug or zooming around the house and yard--and because of this, we think the best environment for Otis is a home without young children. And although he will happily cuddle and snooze on the couch, Otis needs daily walks so that he can exercise his body as well as his brain. Otis is used to doing whatever he wants and will try and push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. However, he is a quick learner with high value food rewards. We are making strides with crate training and leash walking. Otis needs a home with a human that he can trust and depend on. His perfect human will understand that he has been neglected and will continue to help him heal by providing him with lots of love, a consistent routine, and be persistent with his obedience training. Story
If you're looking for a "Velcro dog", look no further! This sweet senior pug named Harper is mostly blind. But don't tell her, because she manages to get around just fine thank you very much! Harper was surrendered to us by her previous owner who had allowed her to wander their farm. As Harper's eyesight slowly worsened, they became concerned and asked us to take her. Surprisingly, the change from the only property she had ever known was remarkably easy. In her foster home, it took Harper about a week to learn her way around and to respond to her foster mom's voice (Remember that childhood game called "Marco Polo"? Well this girl is an expert at finding you by just following your voice.) She happily wears panties to reduce the likelihood of an accident, and has learned to go outside (navigating two steps, thank you very much!) to join the others in a quiet stroll around the yard. Harper is living with other dogs of all sizes as well as cats. She is remarkably tolerant of their exuberance and is happy to watch from a safe distance. It is at snuggling that Harper shines. She is happy to crawl up on your lap or sit by your side and snooze. And don't even think about sleeping in a bed without her! You'll have a friend right next to you, snoring quietly away all night, then asking to be lifted off the bed when it's time to wake up. Harper has been spayed and received a dental including losing many of her teeth. Her fecal and 4dx tests were negative and she is up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. She is on eye drops to keep her eyes lubricated, and those drops will need to continue for the rest of her life. The ideal home for Harper is someone who's looking for a quiet, low maintenance snuggle buddy. Respectful older children would be fine, as would other pets. A fenced in yard is not necessary, although someone will need to keep a close eye on her during her outside wanderings. Harper walks well on a leash and would enjoy a short walk around the neighborhood and the chance to meet others. If you think your household would be a good fit for Harper and you are prepared to take on her special needs, please apply at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel license 9117 P.O.Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608
