Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
5 years old   Very petite.  She's adorable and very loving with people.  She loves belly rubs and toys.  She's good with most other dogs, but should be supervised initially until fully acclimated.  She has a high prey drive for cats, chickens or small animals.  She is a jumper and can clear a 3 ft fence and will run if given the opportunity.  Due to her prey drive and running, she requires a home with at least a 4 ft securely fenced in yard to keep her safe.   To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
Age: 8 months Size: 35 lbs Estimated breed: Boston Terrier/Cattle Dog mix (among many other breeds, according to her DNA results!) Perfect home: Active home, no kids under 12, no cats/small animals   Lucy is an 8-month old Boston terrier mix, whose personality far outweighs her size. She came to live with us when she was just a few weeks old after being rescued in Texas. In the time Lucy has been with us, we have watched her grow into herself. And what a character she has become!    Lucy lives with two other canine friends and a cat. Her and the cat have a mutual understanding. They are not exactly friends, but they respect each other's privacy (for the most part). As far as her canine siblings, Lucy has a strong bond with our Bernese Mountain mix (Sammy).    Sammy and Lucy have been friends since the start. It's quite the combination with Lucy being all of maybe 30 lbs to Sammy's 90 lbs. Rough play is the order of the day, with Lucy regularly ending up airborne after Sammy decides he's had enough and tosses her out of the way. Lucy, not one to give up easily, comes back for more and more. This cycle continues until Lucy tires out and heads to her crate or the couch to rest.   Speaking of crates, Lucy is crate trained and does very will with in. In fact, she usually goes in on her own when she wants alone time, or when we get ready to wind down our evening. Lucy is also excellent with being house broken and accidents are few if any in recent months.   Lucy is very independent and thinks she's a BID dog. She is a bit headstrong with leash training, and also has a very active prey drive. If Lucy sees a squirrel or other small critter, she gets pretty excited and it is tough to break her focus.    Lucy would do best in a home with another large canine companion and a fenced yard. She loves her big brother Sammy and often cuddles with him when they tire out after their backyard wrestling matches. She looks to him constantly for entertainment, reducing some of the burden on us.   We are proud of the young lady Lucy has become. If you are looking for a smaller dog with the heart of a big dog and have the time to work with her, Lucy would love to meet you!   To adopt Lucy, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our animals. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.   PA Kennel License #18366 December 18, 2024, 12:16 pm

Story
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered. Housetrained: YES Prefers a household without Children, other dogs, cats. Sweet Miles is a superb companion and snuggle buddy. He's shy at first, but not too shy to ask for a back rub or a treat. He'll show you his belly and ask you to confirm it's still soft (it is!) He also loves chest and bum scratches, and in time, head scratches. Miles prefers soft words and needs a calm environment, consistency and positive reinforcement. As his confidence grows in his new home, he'll readily wag his tail when you laugh or smile and say sweet things to him. He'll also ask you to play tug with him when the time is right. Miles is housetrained but not used to being crated. He is good boy and will be able to adapt to new or continued training. Some of his favorite snacks are frozen pure pumpkin Kongs, sweet potatoes, petite greenie dental chews, frozen nonfat plain Greek or probiotic yogurt, peanut butter, hard boiled egg whites and chicken chicken chicken. For enrichment/stimulation, he likes (beginner) puzzle feeders and snuffling! Miles loves sitting in the sun, sniffing the world, running errands and car rides with a few treats and a cozy bed in the back seat. He walks well on leash, sometimes needing a slight leash jiggle and a few whistles or clicks to redirect him during leashed walks. He does have a high prey drive, so squirrels and chipmunks take heed! Back at home, he'll help with the laundry and dishes before snuggling under blankets at your side, and napping; occasionally letting out little snores.  At night, he'll even remind you it's time to put on your pajamas and get some ZZZZs! Story
Ella was returned to our care after her adopters  suffered a medical emergency leaving them unable to care for Ella (fka Maw) and Miles (fka Paw). When they arrived back into our care, we believed them to be bonded but have quickly learned they will actually do better separated.  We are seeking a foster, foster to adopt or adopter for this adorable sweetheart. Ella loves to play with toys: benebones and nylabones but especially tug of war.  She loves attention and will shower her person with loads of kisses. She is the perfect combination of sweet and playful.  At times she can be strong willed but she is a pretty good listener and will be able to adapt to new or continued training. Ella loves gentle affection, soft scratches, soft words, sitting in sun, walks, sniffing and running. She enjoys climbing under cozy blankets on the couch or in her bed to nap.  Ella will thrive in a home with exercise/healthy stimulation. She walks well on leash, sometimes needing a slight leash jiggle and a few whistles to redirect her during a leashed walk. She does have a high prey drive - so squirrels and bunnies beware! Some of Ella’s favorite treats are canned pure pumpkin, plain nonfat Greek/probiotic yogurt, greenie dental chews, hardboiled egg whites, pnut butter. Girl’s got good taste!  Ella is housetrained but not used to being crated. She does well without a crate but the room should be “Ella proofed” (soft things such as pillows should be out of reach) www.mostlymuttz.org #seekingfoster #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #fostertoforever #sweetgirl Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##587664##
