Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Hello! I am Sprite! I am a 1.5 year old spayed female Boston terrier. I am a just a tiny little thing, at only 15lbs. I am happy-go-lucky, silly, playful, and busy busy busy! I was surrendered to the rescue from a farm, and I am learning all about life as a family pet. I am doing great with potty training, but it is a work in progress. My forever family will need to anticipate helping me finish learning. I am also working on learning what is a dog toy and what is not…I just LOVE to play and everything looks like so much fun! I like balls, bones, hockey pucks, and stuffies - but my favorite thing is hand towels! I don’t destroy the towels, but I love to shake them and roll around on the floor while wrapping myself up in them. I didn’t get a lot of 1-1 attention prior to the rescue taking me, and I am learning about being cuddled and loved. I am not yet used to asking for affection, but I’m very tolerant when I’m held. When I crash after playing, I like to lay on the couch near my foster mom. I have had eye issues in the past that left small scars on my corneas. I can see well in the daytime, and I get around well, but my foster mama jokes that I need glasses. Sometimes I trip over my toys, and it’s tough to find my ball after dark. Otherwise I am not bothered at all! My eyes are not anticipated to get worse, and I require no current treatments. I am very athletic and I can jump fences. My forever family will need to either always keep me on a leash outside, or have a fence over 5 feet so I can’t go over it. Currently I don’t know any obedience skills, but I am very smart and I would LOVE to go to puppy classes! My foster mama has started teaching me things, and it is so fun to learn! Currently I am crated when alone, but I don’t like to be crated, and I really can’t yet be trusted loose in the house. I am looking for someone who is home most of the time and can provide a dog safe space for me when they aren’t home. My foster mom can help with a plan to create this safe space! I love other dogs, but my go, go, go energy can be exhausting for my older foster siblings. I would love to be adopted into a home with another young playful dog like myself! My foster home also has cats and a rabbit. I get along with them, but I do need to be supervised since I will chase them if they run from me! If you’re looking for a fun, adorable, active new pup, I could be your girl! Sprite is spayed, vaccinated, HW negative, and up to date on flea/worm preventions. She is being fostered in southern lancaster county and interested adopters must be willing to come to her foster home to meet her. Please apply online at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.3/16/26 Izzy22 lbs, Boston Terrier/Rat Terrier mix, 6 years old. Izzy is a precious, sweet, low key little girl. Her owners had her since she was a newborn, but due to their own failing health, they were unable to continue caring for her. They were broken hearted to have to surrender her to a rescue, but they wanted to make sure she was safe and had a chance at finding another family to love her as much as they do. Izzy is totally house trained. She is only 6 years old, but the gray on her face makes her look older than she is. That is just her coloring, and she has always had the gray, even as a puppy. Izzy's owners took excellent care of her and made sure all of her vetting was kept up to date and she was spayed. We commend them for the care they provided her, and want to honor their wishes for her to find another loving family. Izzy is good with other dogs but was recently attacked by another larger dog, resulting in the injury to her nose that you see in her photos. It is healing well, but will probably always have a scar. Despite this attack, she is still friendly and sweet with other dogs. For her protection, she should be paired with another non aggressive dog that is similar in energy to her. She has short bursts of playfulness (she LOVES squeaky toys!), but is mostly interested in cuddling. Izzy's mom was a boston terrier and her dad was a rat terrier. She is a lovely little girl with a sweet, calm energy. She has been good with the young child in her foster home, but does get a little nervous when he's being rambunctious. She would be fine a home with kids as long as they are gentle with her and not super rowdy. Izzy is located in Arkansas and can be adopted locally, or she can transport to the New England area if adopted there. If adopted in New England, his adopter will need to pick him up (or arrange for a trusted friend/family to pick him up) on a Saturday in PA, NY, or CT. Residents of other states may adopt as well, as long as they can meet our transporter along their route. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.3/16/26 Introducing our Pastry Puppies! These babies are SO PRECIOUS! Their mom appears to be a Boston Terrier mix who weighs about 35 lbs. She is brindle with one blue eye. Sadly, mom and puppies were abandoned by her owners when they moved. They simply put her, her sister, and the whole litter of puppies outside in the yard, and they left and never came back. No food. No water. No shelter. Just 2 little dogs with newborn babies, with no way to fend for themselves. They are all safe now, and the babies will soon be ready to find their own homes! They are the sweetest little nuggets. I do not believe they will be as small as most Boston Terriers, but they probably won't be very big. I would say they'll probably be close to mom's size of around 35-40 lbs once grown. Some may be smaller than that. It's impossible to know for sure. Regardless, they are wonderful, loving little babies that need homes! They are currently about 8 weeks old and weigh between 7-10 lbs. Bismarck is the 2nd largest, after Croissant. He is incredibly sweet. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays.
