Story
Meet Scout This little nugget, Scout, is a wonderful dog. She, like so many dogs, had been running as a stray and wound up at a high-kill shelter. The shelter saw her potential and asked us if we could rescue her before they were forced to euthanize. Having seen this little girl in action we were smitten. We don't know what breeds Scout is, but she could have some Boston in her, maybe a bit of beagle or even Jack Russell or all three - it's so hard to know. We do know she is petite in size at only 17 lbs. at eight months. She may top out at 25 lbs. She has the cutest oversized ears, an alert expression, intelligent eyes and a pretty white coat with patches. She is the happiest, friendliest, most adorable young pup. Scout LOVES people, kids, dogs, and cats! She loves everything and everyone she encounters. She walks great on a leash, she loves strolling with her person and other dogs, especially Honey (her mate that we also rescued). Scout and Honey seem to be bonded, at least they are best friends, and will be adopted together. It would be so sad to separate them at this time. Scout travels well, is up for adventure and playing. She loves to run in the play yards and likes to say 'hello' to the other dogs out there. This little girl is pawfect. She will transition easily into a loving home. She will be your constant companion. She is a confident, calm, quiet, fun-loving girl, looking to be someone's fur baby companion. She will grace your heart and home with joy, snuggles and cuddles, yet be ready for a hiking adventure, a visit to the wineries or caf̩e or simply lounging on a comfy couch. This girl has it all! If interested in Scout and Honey, please submit a dog application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know to be on the lookout. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Millie Millie is a gorgeous young pup. We rescued her from a high kill shelter and brought her to the safety of our shelter. Millie is an exceptional young dog. She is as gentle as a lamb, very quiet, loving, affectionate, sweet, friendly and she is house-trained and crate-trained! Millie looks to be a terrier hound mix. She is gorgeous with a predominantly grey blue coat and warm brown eyes. She is a small/medium sized girl. She doesn’t seem to shed much either! Millie loves, loves, loves people, she’d do well with kids, dogs and seems to not be too interested in cats. A patient and careful introduction will be helpful. Millie goes to foster every weekend and her foster mama says she does extremely well. She is well-mannered and calm. Millie walks easily on a leash and loves to go for strolls. And she loves treats, taking them so gently. She will do well in a less active home where she can snuggle with her person. She will love a fenced yard where she can sun herself, a comfy pillow or place where she can relax and a home where she receives a lot of love. She gives back so much and is such a gem. We have fallen in love with Mille and know you will too. Millie is pawfect in every way. If interested in Millie, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Story
Hey there, future best friend! My name is Clover and let me tell you—I’ve had a tough life. I was found as a stray, all skin and bones, with a coat that looked like it had been through a tumble dryer and a skin infection to boot. But guess what? With some medical care and lots of TLC, my transformation is well under way! My fur is filling in beautifully, and it’s so soft you won’t be able to resist petting me. Plus, I’ve put on some healthy weight—I’m now a perfect 30-pound bundle of joy!But here’s the kicker: I’m not just any dog. Nope, I’m Lucky Clover. And boy, do I need a lucky break! I’ve got this little tail that wags like crazy whenever someone shows me love. Cuddles? Yes, please! Belly rubs? Absolutely! I thrive on them, and I promise to give it all back tenfold. Love is my superpower. I’ll nuzzle close, gaze into your eyes, and remind you that life is better with a furry friend by your side. So, what do you say? Ready to make your own luck? Let’s create paw-some memories together! *Sponsored Adoption*
