Hi, I'm Laci! I am about 35 lbs. and what they call a "mixed breed". I may or may not have some Boston Terrier in me. I am about 2 years old, a bit skittish around new people, but very loyal and loving once I get to know you. When I was a young puppy, I had an accident and didn't get the care I needed so my back legs don't work how they should, but I'm otherwise super healthy. I can still get around pretty well on my own but am super agile with the help of my trusty, custom-fit, pink wheelchair! I can go to the potty by myself (no assistance needed from you!), I am house-trained, and crate-trained too! I love to play with toys and to snuggle up next to you. I used to be a bit afraid of others dogs and children but now, with time and assessment in my loving foster home, I do well with both. I'd love to find my perfect forever home, a special home for a special girl like me. I'm up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and spayed. This sweet girl came into ABTR’s care last summer after she was found listed for sale on Facebook. We think her young owner planned to breed her but got in over her head. Sweet Precious was kept outside in a pen, so she was thrilled to be rescued. In fact, she’s thrilled about almost everything: people, food, other dogs, treats, blankets, toys, and sleeping in her foster mom’s bed. Estimated to be between 12-18 months, this petite girl (she’s around 15-16 pounds) still has puppy energy, but she also loves to snuggle next to you on the couch. Her early life experience left her understandably anxious, so she doesn’t do well in a crate. She stays out in the house with her foster brother, though, and hasn’t destroyed anything but a few stuffed toys. Mostly, she just wants to be with you, licking you and showing you how grateful she is for your attention. She’ll follow you around, but she also likes to explore, so she’ll busy herself in the yard or playing with toys, too. She is good about pottying outside, but sometimes that means on the back deck (which she counts as outdoors). She will sit for a treat and knows the command “down,” which she hears a lot because she gets so excited that she just can’t help jumping up on people. We’re working on breaking her of that habit, but because she’s so enthusiastic, she might be too much for young children. She was recently spayed and had nares and palate surgery, which greatly improved her breathing. This little girl is a joy, and she deserves a home where she can be the center of attention for years to come. Precious is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines.
