Meet Ms. Este! She's a 2-3 year old Boston Terrier, very loving, always wants to be snuggled, and is a most excellent couch potato. She very much enjoys pulling all the stuffing out of all toys she can get her mouth on; this is her favorite hobby! She also LOVES to go on walks and play fetch! Este is house-trained, crate-trained, walks fantastically on a leash, knows the sit/stay command, and is learning new tricks every day. She does like to wander (likes to put her nose down and not look up). She requires a fenced-in yard and not be left outside unsupervised. Este will make a perfect companion for a family with children as she loves kids, but she would also do well just being the center of anyone's world! Este came into ABTR's care in July of this year after being surrendered to the Florence-Lauderdale shelter. She was obviously quite pregnant but surrendered for "being aggressive towards children and overweight due to eating mud". In her foster home, Este has been nothing but gentle and sweet to her foster family's 4 children and other visiting children. She gave birth to 7 puppies, raised them well, and has since been spayed and completely vetted. Este does like to jump up but is learning to stay down. She does cry in her crate from excitement when she first sees her people but otherwise is very calm and quiet in her cage. Este does not have an aggressive bone in her body but can be slightly cage aggressive to dogs when they walk by her crate and want to protect her food, but she is completely fine with them outside of the cage and shows no food guarding towards her puppies or other dogs outside of her crate. She currently lives with 3 standard poodles and 2 of her puppies and gets along with them all. UPDATE!&#226&#156&#168 This sweet girl is Nyla and she was pulled from a rural Alabama shelter with her two sisters. They appear to be some sort of terrier mix and are measuring at this time to stay on the smaller - medium size! They are around 4ish months and Nyla weighs 20ish now. They are spunky and sweet. Great for pretty much any family. Nyla is utd, spayed and ready for her happily ever after! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. Hi, I'm Laci! I am about 35 lbs. and what they call a "mixed breed". I may or may not have some Boston Terrier in me. I am about 2 years old, a bit skittish around new people, but very loyal and loving once I get to know you. When I was a young puppy, I had an accident and didn't get the care I needed so my back legs don't work how they should, but I'm otherwise super healthy. I can still get around pretty well on my own but am super agile with the help of my trusty, custom-fit, pink wheelchair! I can go to the potty by myself (no assistance needed from you!), I am house-trained, and crate-trained too! I love to play with toys and to snuggle up next to you. I used to be a bit afraid of others dogs and children but now, with time and assessment in my loving foster home, I do well with both. I'd love to find my perfect forever home, a special home for a special girl like me. I'm up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and spayed.
