Story
Sergio, what a handsome boy! He has lived in the same home for his almost 12 years of life after being left tied to the fence at DHS as a puppy. Sergio finds himself back at DHS because his owner is unable to properly care for him. Sergio is still full of energy and likes to be active. He is super loving and playful. Sergio does well with other dogs but has not been around cats. Sergio has not been around children, and would do best with older children due to his high energy. He is house-trained but has never been in a kennel. Sergio likes to go for car rides and walks well on a leash. He, however, is an escape artist in the yard, and will need secure fencing or be out on a leash. This handsome older guy would make someone a wonderful walking partner and couch snuggler!

It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. This is Pip. Pip is a shy and quiet girl who needs a patient family to help her come out of her shell. She spent her entire life in a shelter prior to coming to her foster home. When she got there she was terrified of things as simple as the tv being on. She has since blossomed into a wonderful dog and becomes more comfortable every day. She is very submissive and will melt on the floor. She warms up to women quicker than men, but eventually loves everyone. Once she is comfortable with her people she is the best nap partner and loves to cuddle on the couch. Pip also LOVES balls that squeak, its really the only toy she cares about and likes a game of fetch. Pip would do best with a fenced in yard as she likes to run and explore and chase her foster siblings. She is pretty nervous being on a leash, but with more time would probably be fine with that as well. Pip gets along great with the 5 other dogs in the home and the cats. She is very much a follower and not a leader, being a great dog for anyone that needs a less dominant dog. Pip would do best with older children because she gets nervous with loud sounds and lots of commotion, making her a great dog for an older couple looking for less puppy and quiet. She is housebroke and loves her kennel as well. She will go in her kennel on her own for a nap or for comfort if something is scary or overwhelming. Apply to meet Pip today, you won't regret it! This girl deserves lots of love and patience from here on out.

It took her less than 24 hours to fall right into routine at her foster home. She's housed with 5 other dogs of all sizes and 2 cats. She loves to play and wrestle with her foster siblings. She leaves the cats alone most of the time but is never mean to them. She is house trained and kennel trained. She is fairly quiet and only barks if her foster siblings are barking at something. She sleeps through the night in her kennel without making a sound. She walks wonderful on a leash without pulling. She's full grown with the heart of a puppy yet. She LOVES all her toys! She has a very calm demeanor, but still loves to run and chase her siblings in the yard. She has the most beautiful eyes that will melt ypur heart. Story
Meet Calliope! Calliope is a 5 month old, spayed female Heeler mix. She is microchipped, on heartworm preventative and current on her vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Energetic, affectionate and out-going. Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: "My friends at the shelter describe me as a happy girl who cant wait to find her forever home and grow up by her people's side. They say I am an energetic, goofy girl with a heart full of love." Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 8 Housetraining Status: I could use some work on housetraining but I will catch on super fast with a good routine and patience. I would do well in a home with: Dogs (with proper introductions) and Kids (with parental guidance). Staff are unsure how I would do around cats. My favorite activities are: I love cuddling and playing with my favorite people and going everywhere with them. Things I need work on are: I could use a little help with my leash walking skills, sometimes the leash confuses me. My adoption fee is: $350 Training Requirement if applicable: Because I am a puppy and its very important my new family and I are set up for success, I am required to attend a puppy class at my new family's choice of training location. There is a $100 training deposit for this but once a course is complete, the training deposit will be refunded. *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
