Story
What my friends at OHS say about me:I may do best with an owner who has had experience owning or caring for shy and fearful dogs.I am such a beautiful, sweet, sensitive girl that just needs a patient, loving home to show me what a good girl I am!I love treats and this can be a great way to work on training and confidence building and to help us form that forever bond.I am an active girl that benefits from lots of both physical and mental enrichment activities.I have arthritis, which there is no cure for, but there are many ways to manage.Escape Artist: I have a history of escaping doors or fences. I will need supervision when outdoors or we can go on adventures together - on leash of course!Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people.I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!The type of home I'm looking for:I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I need to go to a home without cats or small animals.I am not for the first time dog owner. Someone very familiar with canine body language is a must for me.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. Slow introductions and having my own space will be important for me to adjust to a home with resident dogs.Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, so I need a home without small children. It could be with you!
