Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Norway says hello! She is a 9 month old Border collie (DOB 2-1-24) who came to Forget Me Not Shelter when she was found abandoned in the woods. Norway arrived shy, scared, and unsure of her surroundings. Over time she has blossomed into a silly, playful girl. She is 31 lbs now and the typical weight for a full grown female border collie is between 30-45 lbs; she looks to be on the more petite side. She is in a playgroup with two other dogs here at Forget Me Not and is known for collecting as many toys as possible especially when her friend Buck isn’t looking. We are working on commands such as sit and down, and with the help of her furry friends we are confident that she’ll catch on in no time! Norway is house trained and is learning what a leash is; though she does not pull, it’s still all so new to her. She can be a bit vocal at times, especially when she hears a new voice in the building. We have observed that Norway likes to chase cars along the fence as they pass by, so she would be best suited in a home with a fenced yard. Norway is good with kids, the age group she has met has been around is 10 years old and up. She is also good with cats and most dogs. Her perfect home would be one where she can continue to come out of her shell and learn what it is to be an adventurous pup, in an environment where she can run, pla,y and crawl in your lap to steal kisses. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Norway is a suggested minimum of $125 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
