Story
Meet Nymera! 🐺 Her name, Nymera, means “noble” — a fitting name for such a strong and graceful soul. (It’s pronounced nih-MEER-ee-uh.) This gorgeous girl was found stray near the border of Mexico, and the moment her rescuer opened the car door, she hopped right in as if she knew her new life was about to begin. Nymera is about 1 year old, weighs 30 pounds, and is a Border Collie mix with a heart as big as her smile. She’s affectionate, intelligent, and social — she loves everyone she meets and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She has that classic Border Collie sparkle — alert, eager to please, and full of gentle energy — but what makes her truly special is her sweet, trusting nature after all she’s been through. ✨ Nymera is ready to lead her own happily-ever-after — could it be with you?

Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Bruno – Your Built-In Best Friend & Adventure Buddy! Bruno is a 5-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix (best guess) weighing in at around 30lbs pounds and expected to be around 45–50 pounds once fully grown – the perfect medium size for tagging along on everything from your coffee run to weekend hiking adventures! This handsome pup is a sweet mix of playful curiosity and tender shyness. While he loves to romp and wrestle with his siblings, he’s also more reserved with new people and takes a little time to warm up. Once he feels safe, though, his loving personality shines through — complete with a silly little growl/howl when he wants to “talk.” Bruno has built up quite the resume: 🐾 Playful with his siblings and curious about the world 🐾 A little shy with new people but very sweet once he trusts you 🐾 Great with other dogs 🐾 Loves people of all sizes 🐾 Hasn’t met cats yet, but at his age should do fine with a proper intro 🐾 Soft, glossy coat that gleams in the sunshine Bruno is soaking up the world like a little sponge, learning new things every day, and wants to be doing it all right by your side. With his big heart, soulful eyes, and goofy pup charm, he’s ready to leap into your heart — and maybe onto your couch after a long day of play. Bruno isn’t just looking for a home… he’s looking for his person. Could it be you? Apply at haydudeequine.org for that furry best friend you didn't even know you needed!!

Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with his day care owners, and doing well there. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  September 19, 2025, 2:47 pm

Story
Benji is a great companion, despite some trauma suffered from previous adoptions. He was abandoned in an apartment and I rescued him 4 years ago. Since then, he has been under my care and affection. He loves his toys, doesn't really like wearing clothes, and loves a clean and organized bed... haha. He doesn't get along very well with other dogs. I wouldn't know how to explain why, but he is docile and gentle with humans. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to take care of him because I am pregnant and alone. I am moving to a room because the cost of living is lower and this house already has dogs. Unfortunately, my journey with Benji is coming to an end.
