Animal Profile: Nellie is an estimated 18 month old, 55 lb spayed female mixed breed (possibly border collie and shepherd) who was found as a stray in TX and taken in by our rescue partners. She is very social, friendly, playful with dogs, and good in the crate -- but loves to be with her humans. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Nellie is a loyal, loving and easy going young dog who has been a joy to foster. She has high energy when she knows it's time to play, but can also relax when it's not play time. She is wonderful in the crate and is also good on leash, rarely pulling. She is friendly and playful with other dogs once she warms up to them after slow introductions. She is good at communicating boundaries appropriately with other dogs when it comes to staying away from "her stuff." She absolutely loves being outside and will be a great hiking or running buddy! She's a hard chewer so will need durable toys. She has a cute little habit of stealing socks and hiding them in her crate; she doesn't destroy them, just likes to collect them. Her ideal family would be a couple or single person with or without another balanced dog, looking for an adventure buddy and willing to help her continue to build her confidence. Nellie has not been formally evaluated with cats or kids. Animal Profile: Tuesday is an estimated 4.5 month -old female mixed breed (likely Border Collie with Hound) who -- along with her sibling Ruby -- found themselves at the crowded Turlock shelter due to no fault of their own. This sweet pup is friendly with people and very social with other dogs. She will benefit from another dog in her foster home but could do OK as an only dog. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Tuesday is pure sweetness! She is a grade a cuddle-bug, as well as a playful puppy that loves to be near you and engage, but can just chill by your side if you are busy. Tuesday loves people and everyone who meets her falls in love with her sweet, gentle nature. She is a smart, attentive girl that is eager to please and has great recall. Tuesday loves to run and play fetch - she would make a great running or hiking buddy! She is not mouthy, has taken well to crate and potty training, sleeps through the night and reliably uses the backyard. All in all Tuesday is a wonderful sweetheart! Tuesday loves other dogs We ar looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, and an active family. Meet Bada🩵 (It means sea in Korean) At the end of June 2022, Bada was admitted to the shelter with a fractured front leg. Bandaged in the hot weather, his wound attracted flies, and upon examination after rescue, his bones were misaligned, requiring a second surgery. Now, his bones have healed well, and he is happily running around without any issues. 😊 * Interaction with People : Bada is extremely fond of people. He's a sweetheart to humans, always greeting them with a big smile, which is so adorable. ❤ * Interaction with Dogs: He can be assertive towards dogs who play rough, so caution is needed. Tends to avoid encountering dogs with whom he had a clash at the Center. * Potty Training: He's been doing outdoor potty at the Center. * Hygiene: He's cooperative with ear cleaning and doesn't resist. However, he might whine when getting his nails trimmed as he's not used to it, so regular walks to grind his nails are necessary. * Walking: He follows people without pulling on the leash. Sometimes, he may resist going where he doesn't want to, but with leash training, he'll likely improve quickly. * Car Sickness: He's fine in the car and doesn't experience motion sickness at all! 💌Special Notes💌 * Separation anxiety and toilet training are still unknown as he's been living in a group at the center. * He rarely barks unnecessarily, but sometimes, he may bark alertly at external noises. He stops when called. * Bada enjoys being with people and receiving love while resting, so a place where he can receive undivided attention would be ideal. ☺️ He also enjoys his alone time when needed!
