Luna was adopted in Spokane Wa from a shelter four years ago. She is 7 now, technically a large dog at around 65lbs. She's very high energy, loves to cuddle and loves snacks. I'm having to rehome her because I am working too much and she's spending too much time in her crate. She would do well in a home with someone who is home more often and has a yard. She will also need some better leash training. She is a Border Collie Mix but her other breed is unknown

I think her trainer said it best - working with her genetics and drive will be the top priority for Rosie's forever home. Olive with Bark Trek LOVES the working breeds. Found as a stray and dumped at a local shelter, we didn't have a lot of history on this girl. She was shy and shut down in the beginning. As she became more settled, her herding instincts kicked in hard and every human in her foster home was a target for her to 'move along.' Working with Bark Trek - Rosie was given direction and the work included building her confidence around new people and new places, giving her a solid foundation for basic obedience, games and toy structure, and making sure she knows how to wear a muzzle with comfort and pride. Rosie is a SUPER smart, super border collie girl. That being said, we are looking for a home that: A) has Border Collie / Cattle Dog experience. B) has patience to work with Rosie BOTH with and without a trainer C) understands the concept of 3/3/3 and that Rosie will need time to settle into her new forever home. D) has another friendly dog or two, Rosie loves her playmates. We would be more than willing to do a foster to adopt to make sure her placement is a good fit for Rosie and her new family. Because of her genetics we are asking for no cats and no small kids (16+ preferred). She is a barker by breed - and an experienced cattle dog person will know that. She is just over a year old (November) and weighs under 45#. This dog is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is on pet insurance and was cleared orthopedically. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt will require a training contract and $100 refundable deposit for this girl. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit. We can help you find a trainer. Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. Adoption fee is $375 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. Kelpies are known to be very smart dogs and quick to learn. Jericho fits this description to a tee. He’s young and will be great for someone who loves working with a dog, engaging that brain and energy. Jericho is motivated! He makes training a ton of fun. He responds best to positive reinforcement, both verbal and treats (yum) along with consistency. Want to get his attention if he gets distracted on a walk, well, he’s been learning to listen for a 1, 2, 3 count and then a bit of training treats on the ground and he’s back on track Jericho is good with other dogs, having been a roomie with 3 other dogs here at the shelter; a shepherd, cattle dog and a husky. He’s also been great taking parallel walks with many of our other dogs both around the shelter and fun off sites. Come in and meet this smart cookie.

Stormy is a medium 47lb dog that needs room to explore, to get her wiggles out and to learn good dog behavior. She has not had training, has been bounced from home to home and really needs stability. She is friendly, playful, gets along with most dogs, has been fine with children 4 and up, and is still working on potty training. This girl is active but has not been well socialized. She prefers the company of women, but we are sure with time she will accept most people.
