Story
Requires: -Herding breed experienced home -Large fenced yard outside the city -Another playful dog in the home her size or larger Keira is a 2 year old, 50lb Border Collie who is looking for her perfect home. She takes a while to trust, but is loyal to her people once she does. Keira is fearful of people and does not easily trust. She can be skittish and is a flight risk if not contained properly. She will build trust with her people after a period of time spent together and trust building, but she is not a ‘people’ dog with new people. She is definitely a dog's dog. She prefers to be with her dog friends and spends her days out in a play yard with 5-7 other dogs. Keira will need a home that understands and is ok with the fact she is not a super lovey dog that will want human attention all the time. Keira will do best in an adult only home that is patient in building her trust and ok with her being aloof and doing her own thing at times. She is well mannered and does great hanging out in a fenced yard with her dog friends. She is super active and loves to run around in her current large play yard with other dogs. Keira will thrive in a home with a large fenced yard outside of the city. She is not an apartment/condo/townhome dog. Keira requires at least one other dog around her size in the home, and herding breed experience. She would thrive in a more rural setting with a large fenced yard. Keira is UTD on shots, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Ralphie! He is a 4.5-year-old, 50lb, Border Collie/Pittie mix. This boy is just a hunk of love and look at that adorable smile!. He is sweet, fun loving and a playful boy! He would love his forever home to be an active family who would take him for walks and on adventures. Ralphie will thrive in a home that can continue basic obedience with him. Ralphie can do well with other dogs, and we will want to meet the other dogs in his forever home to make sure it’s a great fit! We do not think he would do well with a dominant male, but neutral dogs 35lbs and up ok! Ralphie can be a bit of an escape artist so he will need a free-standing home with a securely fenced yard in suburban or rural neighborhood. Ralphie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Pinto! He is a 2-year-old, 48lb border collie mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Pinto is a very sweet boy but still very shy and shut down. When it comes to new experiences, he will require patience as he learns to trust and open up. He comes alive with other dogs around and would love another dog in the home as they give him confidence. He is very loving and will make an extremely loyal companion. We are looking for a quiet standalone home for him outside of the city. No apartment living for him. He plays well with others and is a very quick learner, and who can’t love those stunning multi-colored eyes! Pinto is UTD vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: You have to meet Danny Boy to truly appreciate his charm — his big head, beautiful eyes, and kind soul will win you over in an instant. This 2-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix was an owner surrender and is now looking for a loving forever home. Danny Boy is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to be with his people and will make a loyal companion to an active family. Whether you're into walking, running, or outdoor adventures, he's ready to go! He walks well on a leash, is housetrained, knows basic obedience commands, and takes treats gently, displaying his well-mannered nature. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine friend to play with. Danny Boy needs a home where someone is around most of the time or can take him along when they go out, as he experiences some anxiety when left alone. He just wants to be with you! We all know that labrador retrievers are love bugs, but did you know that Border Collies are astonishingly bright – in fact, they have one of the highest IQs among dogs? They’re also great protectors and are very loyal to his family. Danny Boy would be an excellent candidate for swimming, playing games (fetch, tug-of-war, hide & seek) or agility training. When he’s bored, he can be a bit of an escape artist, so a securely fenced yard is a must. Ideal for a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood, Danny Boy would do best in a cat-free home. Come meet Danny Boy and see for yourself — his big heart and loving energy are such a gift! Danny Boy is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing Jackson! He is a 2-year-old, 52lb border collie mix who came to us as a stray from a high-kill shelter in CA. Jackson is a great dog that is going to make an awesome adventure companion! He loves to be with his person and is looking for someone to bond with and call his own. Jackson walks well on leash but will pull towards things he is interested in seeing, so will require a strong adopter when he does so. He does have a good amount of energy to him so he would love an active home to take him hiking, on daily walks, and/or running ~ but he is also able to focus when you need him to. Jackson came to us a little underweight, so we are working on bringing him back up to a healthy version of himself. He has done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog to a home, or he would be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. Jackson is a super smart boy who learns quickly and is going to make a very loyal companion. He is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Profile: Nellie is an estimated 18 month old, 55 lb spayed female mixed breed (possibly border collie and shepherd) who was found as a stray in TX and taken in by our rescue partners. She is very social, friendly, playful with dogs, and good in the crate -- but loves to be with her humans. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Nellie is a loyal, loving and easy going young dog who has been a joy to foster. She has high energy when she knows it's time to play, but can also relax when it's not play time. She is wonderful in the crate and is also good on leash, rarely pulling. She is friendly and playful with other dogs once she warms up to them after slow introductions. She is good at communicating boundaries appropriately with other dogs when it comes to staying away from "her stuff." She absolutely loves being outside and will be a great hiking or running buddy! She's a hard chewer so will need durable toys. She has a cute little habit of stealing socks and hiding them in her crate; she doesn't destroy them, just likes to collect them. Her ideal family would be a couple or single person with or without another balanced dog, looking for an adventure buddy and willing to help her continue to build her confidence. Nellie has not been formally evaluated with cats or kids.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Nellie was transferred from Saving Shelter Strays in Texas arriving to Seattle area foster care on 3/8/24. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. November 6, 2024, 5:36 pm

Story
Tommy is a cute and cuddly little boy with an eternally cute face. He was found on the streets with a tumor about 5.5" in diameter in his belly. He lasted a year in treatment with chemotherapy and medication and needed surgery to remove the remaining encapsulated mass. In addition to needing special food to break up a stone bladder, he has ultrasounds to make sure he don't get sediment in his bladder every three months. He is currently a healthy, happy, loving and tender dog. He is very loyal and protective, intelligent and playful. He don't get along well with alpha male dogs, but plays well with puppies and females. He is sociable with children and adults. Tommy is a Border collie mix, and is smaller than a Border collie. When you talk to him he makes a cute and cuddly face, ducks his head and rolls his eyes upwards, I think he knows he is cute and takes advantage of that. Tommy is a dog to spoil, to cuddle and to give him lots of love, since his first family didn't give him all he deserved. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.
