Story
Meet Daisy! Breed: Border Collie Mix Estimated DOB: 11/07/2021 Sex: Female - spayed Weight: 30-35 lbs Currently up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things to Know About Daisy: Rescued from Mississippi This two-toned eyed beauty has the sweetest and happiest personality  Daisy can be timid and reserved with new people, especially in new situations (such as the vet). She loves treats and tends to warm up quickly with snacks!  May do best in a home who has experience with dogs who are a little cautious in new environments  Once comfortable, Daisy loves love: enjoys pets, giving kisses, belly rubs, and snuggling close  Medium-high energy Enjoys being outdoors, playing in the yard, and chasing balls just as much as she enjoys sunbathing and snuggling  Gets so excited for walks and really enjoys hikes! Just show her the leash and she's ready to go!  Incredibly smart, a quick learner Knows "sit" and "crate" and working on "down" Working on leash training, as she likes to explore and sometimes gets overly excited on a walk  Great in the car and hops right in; will happily be your copilot! Crate trained; settles quickly, sleeps in her crate overnight and does well when crated during the day Housebroken Has met 12-13-year-olds in her foster home and does well with kids in this age group Dog friendly—Initially takes time to adjust to new dogs, but once settled, she's playful or happily coexists  Cat friendly - Coexisted nicely with the TLC resident cat A total love bug who will brighten every day with her energy, snuggles, and playful spirit Learn more and apply to adopt at TLCRescuePA.org/adopt Interested in fostering? Story
I adopted Max from a rescue in 2016. He was almost 2 years old at the time. He's always been a very smart, loyal and healthy dog. He's over 10 years old now but still enjoys long walks and has never had an real health issues. Over the years though he became very protective of me and more recently my wife. His trainer calls it "resource guarding". He gets along great with people, kids and other dogs, as long as I am not around to protect. On walks he will react to other dogs and people if they get too close. Just barking, never biting. He also gets aggressive around smaller children. Which make it very difficult for my wife and I to start our family. We don't think it would be safe for a baby if Max was in the home. We are looking for experienced dog owners who know how to care for a healthy, but older dog. I think he would do fine with older kids and possibly another dog if they were introduced beforehand. I don't think he would do well with cats, or smaller children. Thanks
